  • Publication number: 20240115292
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments of apparatus and method for obtaining one or more portions of biological tissue (“micrografts”) to form grafts are provided. For example, a hollow tube can be inserted into tissue at a donor site, and a pin provided within the tube can facilitate controlled removal of the micrograft from the tube. Micrografts can be harvested and directly implanted into an overlying biocompatible matrix through coordinated motion of the tube and pin. A needle can be provided around the tube to facilitate a direct implantation of a micrograft into a remote recipient site or matrix. The exemplary apparatus can include a plurality of such tubes and pins for simultaneous harvesting and/or implanting of a plurality of micrografts. The harvested micrografts can have a small dimension, e.g., less than about 1 mm, which can promote healing of the donor site and/or viability of the harvested tissue.

  • Publication number: 20240094741
Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method and apparatus for automated following behind a lead vehicle. The lead vehicle navigates a path from a starting point to a destination. The lead vehicle and the following vehicle are connected via V2V communication, allowing one or more following vehicles to detect the path taken by the lead vehicle. A computerized control system on the following vehicle (a Follow-the-Leader, or FTL, system) allows the following vehicle to mimic the behavior of the lead vehicle, with the FTL system controlling steering to guide the following vehicle along the path previously navigated by the lead vehicle. In some embodiments, the lead vehicle and following vehicle may both use Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) position coordinates. In some embodiments, the following vehicle may also have a system of sensors to maintain a gap between the following and lead vehicles.

  • Patent number: 8139739
Abstract: An enhanced alerting system delivers caller identification information to a user of a mobile communications device with the called device announcing in an audio format the name associated with a calling device. The enhanced alerting system may be implemented by an Internet Protocol (IP) based system, e.g., IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). In at least one embodiment of the invention, an application server streams the announcement to the called communications device. In at least one embodiment of the invention, the service is network controlled. In at least one embodiment of the invention, the service is user equipment controlled. In at least one embodiment of the invention, a calling communications device streams the announcement to the called communications device in a request for a call session with the called communications device.

  • Publication number: 20060234703
Abstract: A method used in wireless communications for displaying an icon on a wireless communications device indicating that a calling party is a subscriber of a same wireless communications service provider of a called party. A terminating mobile station switching center (MSC) flags a routing number port associated with a routing number and returns the routing number to an originating MSC when it determines that a request for the routing number is sent from a home locator register (HLR) of the called party's wireless communications service provider and the calling party is also a subscriber of the called party's wireless communications service provider. When receiving an incoming call, the terminating MSC inspects whether the incoming call is to be sent through a flagged routing number port. If so, the terminating MSC generates a SETUP message with an instructions to display the icon.

  • Patent number: 5668017
Abstract: The assay device of this invention provides for very simple assay procedures leading to rapid, sensitive, specific detection of an analyte in a solution. The device is inexpensive and easily manufactured, particularly if automated manufacturing processes are used. The assay device is a test strip having an elongated support sheet of solid non-porous material attached to a similarly shaped sheet of absorbent material. The absorbent sheet has perforations, preferably of circular shape, forming sample receiving wells. Forming the bottom of the sample receiving wells is one surface of the support sheet, and attached to this surface are moieties which specifically bind the analyte (anti-analyte moieties). A liquid sample for assay is placed in the wells, and the liquid is drawn into the absorbent material. As the liquid is absorbed, it flows tangentially across the surface of the support sheet, and across binding moieties specific for the analyte which are attached to the bottom of the wells.
