  • Publication number: 20080048438
Abstract: The present invention provides a plumbing apparatus that includes an offset or tangential T-fitting providing for offsetting a branch pipe from a run pipe in end elevation view, and for the branch pipe to intersect the run pipe orthogonally in side elevation view. That is, the branch pipe may intersect the run pipe substantially tangentially, so that an arrangement of plumbing fittings and devices may be nested into a thinner wall or into a smaller dimension of space than would be the case if a conventional T-fitting were employed. By use of the inventive T-fitting a considerable savings in materials of construction may be realized in the construction of swimming pools and spas, for example. Particularly, the present inventive offset or tangential T-fitting provides for the installation of bubble jet fittings and associated piping into a comparatively thin (i.e., about 6 inches thick) dam wall between a swimming pool and spa.

  • Publication number: 20080050494
Abstract: An acidified, milk-based, shelf-stable food product comprises a milk-based component and preferably a pasta component. At least the milk-based component contains acidifying agents selected from the group of sodium acid sulfate, sorbic acid, lactic acid, and gluconic acid. This unique combination of acids provides a salty flavor without the addition of sodium chloride and provides an end product having a low pH or low acid taste that is shelf-stable over a significant period of time.

  • Publication number: 20080051869
Abstract: A system for delivering a medical device, such as an angioplasty balloon, includes two catheter shafts. The distal portion of a first shaft includes a first balloon and is narrower than the proximal portion. A second catheter shaft includes a second balloon and is connected to a medial portion of the first shaft. The second shaft includes a guidewire passageway which is in communication with the passwageway of a third shaft that is removablly connected to the first shaft. The distal tips of the first and second balloons are connected together to allow the system to be advanced to an anatommical site using a single guidewire. A second guidewire may be used to separate the distal ends of the balloons and to position the balloons at vascular bifurcation. A stent can be crimped onto the balloons such that inflation of the balloons implants the stent within the bifurcation.

  • Publication number: 20080050871
Abstract: Methods for removing material from one layer of a semiconductor device structure, such as an etch stop layer beneath a capacitor container, without substantially removing material from an overlying layer that includes the same material, such as a protective or reinforcing lattice over the capacitor container, include employing process parameters in which material may be removed from features, as desired, while a sufficient amount of polymer is formed and deposited on features from which material removal is not desired. Methods for designing suitable processes are also disclosed, as are semiconductor device structures that are formed using such processes.

  • Publication number: 20080047148
Abstract: A trimmer head for use in a flexible line rotary trimmer including a housing adapted to be operatively connected to the trimmer to effect rotation of the head and a spool operatively connected to the housing for rotation therewith. The spool defines at least one inwardly extending line receptor channel defining surface irregularities therein for securely gripping the cutting line upon an end portion of the line being inserted in the channel and the spool rotated with respect to the housing. The channel is preferably tapered inwardly to hold different line sizes. To provide uniform winding of the line about the spool, the operative connection between the spool and the housing effects relative reciprocal motion therebetween when the spool is manually rotated relative to the housing.

  • Publication number: 20080047404
Abstract: The invention relates to a tool, especially a screwing tool having a handle with a chuck, and a blade, especially a screwdriver blade, that can be inserted into an insertion opening of the chuck. The blade inserted into the insertion opening is held by a detent of the chuck, said detent being displaced from a detent position to a release position by actuating a trigger. The inventive tool is characterized in that the detent comprises a detent projection which is located on a spring arm that extends in the axial direction of the insertion opening and on the periphery thereof. Said spring arm is displaced by a control element of the trigger that can be displaced in the axial direction from the detent position to the release position. The insertion opening is configured by an insertion cylinder located in a cavity of the handle. The insertion cylinder is produced from plastic and the spring arm is associated with the insertion cylinder in order to form a single part consisting of the same material.

  • Publication number: 20080049376
Abstract: A TANK filter is provided for a lead wire of an active medical device (AMD). The TANK filter includes a capacitor in parallel with an inductor. The parallel capacitor and inductor are placed in series with the lead wire of the AMD, wherein values of capacitance and inductance are selected such that the TANK filter is resonant at a selected frequency. In a preferred form, the TANK filter reduces or even eliminates the use of ferro-magnetic materials, and instead uses non-ferromagnetic materials so as to reduce or eliminate MRI image artifacts or the force or torque otherwise associated during an MRI image scan.

  • Publication number: 20080050557
Abstract: Disclosed are porous ceramic honeycomb articles, such as filters, which are composed predominately of a cordierite composition. The ceramic honeycomb articles possess a porous microstructure characterized by a unique combination of relatively high porosity (>45%), and moderately narrow pore size distribution wherein greater than 15% and less than 38% of the total porosity exhibits a pore diameter less than 10 ?m, and low CTE wherein CTE?6.0×10?7/° C. (from 23° C. to 800° C.). The articles exhibit high thermal durability and high filtration efficiency coupled with low pressure drop. Such ceramic articles are particularly well suited for use in filtration applications, such as in diesel exhaust filters. Also disclosed are methods for manufacturing the porous ceramic honeycomb article.

  • Publication number: 20080052026
Abstract: A system and method for automatically configuring a content capture device according to a configuration profile for a desired service are provided. In general, the user of the content capture device registers for one or more services. Thereafter, in one embodiment, the user of the content capture device selects one of a desired service prior to content capture. In another embodiment, the desired service is selected based on contextual information obtained by the content capture device. Once the desired service is selected, the content capture device obtains a configuration profile for the desired service. The configuration profile includes required or suggested configurations for the content capture device when capturing content to be distributed to the desired service. The content capture device performs an auto-configuration process based on the configuration profile. Once the content capture device is configured, content captured by the content capture device is distributed to the desired service.

  • Publication number: 20080048399
Abstract: A leaf seal arrangement is provided in which within a housing there are edge portions to inter associate with non parallel chamfer edges in leaf seal elements. In such circumstances, deflection of the leaf seal elements in an outward direction or inward direction relative to a rotating shaft creates variation in a control gap X, XX between the edges and the chamfer edge. Such increase or decrease in the control gap X, XX adjusts the aerodynamic radial force that is presented to the leaf seal elements whereby those elements can be more accurately maintained at a desired leaf position for optimizing leakage whilst achieving better wear resistance performance.

  • Publication number: 20080051169
Abstract: A central determination gaming system including a plurality of gaming terminals in communication with a central controller. In one embodiment, upon initiation of a game at one of the gaming terminals, the gaming terminal randomly generates a proposed game outcome. The proposed game outcome is communicated to the central controller. The central controller determines if a pool of predetermined game outcomes includes the proposed game outcome. If the pool includes the proposed game outcome, the central controller authorizes the proposed game outcome to be provided to the player, flags the authorized game outcome from further authorizations and communicates the authorized game outcome to the gaming terminal. The gaming terminal then provides the authorized game outcome to the player. If the pool does not include the proposed game outcome, the central controller discards the proposed game outcome and instructs the gaming terminal to generate another proposed game outcome for authorization.
