  • Patent number: 9404314
Abstract: The invention addresses ways to protect the free ends of communication lines from debris during downhole connection. A lower assembly, positioned downhole, has a lower connector with a free end of a communication line. An upper assembly is moved downhole and has an upper connector. A reciprocating member with attached protective cover is mounted for movement on the lower assembly. A second reciprocating member with attached protective cover is mounted for reciprocating movement on the upper assembly. The free ends are connected as the upper and lower assemblies are moved toward one another. Upon disconnection, the upper and lower connectors are moved apart and the reciprocating members return to their initial positions, again protecting the free ends of the communication lines. The covers are preferably biased towards a closed position and return to a closed state upon disconnection.

  • Patent number: 9408095
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for autonomously determining overlapping coverage in a cellular communications network. In one embodiment, the cellular communications network is a heterogeneous cellular communications network. In one embodiment, a network node of a cellular communication system obtains information (e.g., pilot reports) indicative of a perceived coverage of one or more covering cells at wireless devices within a measuring cell over a measurement interval. The network node determines overlapping coverage of the measuring cell and the one or more covering cells based on the information indicative of the perceived coverage of the one or more covering cells at the wireless devices.

  • Patent number: 9404935
Abstract: The present invention relates to metrological rotary devices, such as anemometers and the like. Specifically, the present invention relates to a mechanical coupling for the same, whereby an anemometer cup-rotor or like device, can be replaced without the use of a tool. The present invention seeks to provide a coupling device which makes a mechanical coupling between a first and a second member such that the locking together and release action is positive, without likelihood of failure, and can be conducted simply and quickly without the use of a tool. Further objects of the invention are to provide couplings in which a positive axial and rotational location of shaft as first member and mating bore in a second member are obtained which do not cause damage to either of the sliding surfaces when excessive force is applied, and which are capable of transmitting a torque, such couplings being suitable for attaching a rotor to an anemometer.

  • Patent number: 9408292
Abstract: An improved bus apparatus includes a generally rigid substrate and a conductor apparatus. The conductor apparatus includes a number of bus elements that are embedded within the substrate and which are electrically connected with connection elements that each have an end that is situated external to the substrate. Additional connection elements extend through the substrate and are connectable with loads. Circuit interrupters and other devices are connectable with pairs of the connector elements, wherein one connector element is connected with a line and wherein another connector element is connected with a load. The bus apparatus is formed by receiving the bus elements in channels formed in layers of a thermally conductive and electrically insulative material, and the layers are bonded together with the use of a bonding material to cause the bus elements to become laminated within the interior of the substrate.

  • Patent number: 9407698
Abstract: A device for sharing and synchronizing data objects with peer devices. The device has a memory, interface for communication with a peer, and a processor. The memory is configured to store therein least one data object that is deemed either an original or a copy. When in communication with a peer device, the processor transmits a request for the peer device to send an original data object that corresponds to a data object stored in the memory if the stored data object is a copy and it is to be modified. The processor then stores the requested data object in the memory as an original data object or, if the requested data object is not received, marks the data object stored in the memory as an original. Then the processor may modify data in the original data object stored in the memory.
