  • Publication number: 20160213373
Abstract: A radial closure device has a compression element to place compression force against the radial access site. The invention further comprises an occlusion element that places an occlusion force against the ulnar artery to reduce blood pressure at the arteriotomy site and increase blood flow in the radial artery thereby reducing radial artery occlusion and reducing the time and compression force to achieve hemostasis. A radial restriction element can also be placed upstream of the access site to further reduce radial blood pressure at the arteriotomy site.

  • Publication number: 20160213848
Abstract: Embodiments described herein generally relate to devices, systems and methods for measuring the dose remaining in a drug delivery device that is used for delivering a dose to a patient. In some embodiments, a dose measurement system for measuring the liquid volume in a container includes a plurality of light sources which are disposed and configured to emit electromagnetic radiation toward the container. A plurality of sensors are located in the apparatus that are optically coupleable to the plurality of light sources and are disposed and configured to detect the electromagnetic radiation emitted by at least a portion of the light sources. The apparatus also includes a processing unit configured to receive data representing the portion of the detected electromagnetic radiation from each of the plurality of sensors. The processing unit is further operable to convert the received data into a signature representative of the electromagnetic radiation detected by the plurality of sensors.

  • Publication number: 20160217313
Abstract: A user interface device and method for biometric information processing in a user interface device for biometric collection, quality checking, and matching are disclosed. Embodiments provide a user interface device for capturing biometric information (such as fingerprints) of a subject, determining the quality of the captured biometric information, and comparing the captured biometric information to stored biometric information for possible matches. Comparisons using high quality captured biometric information result in quicker and more accurate verification of identities.

  • Publication number: 20160215927
Abstract: Two pump oil level system and method for exchange of a fluid between an apparatus reservoir and a reserve reservoir. A first pump is connected to an apparatus reservoir to withdraw fluid to maintain a fluid level and to deliver fluid to a reserve reservoir. A second pump returns oil to the apparatus reservoir from the reserve reservoir. The first pump transfers fluid at a volume relatively larger than the second pump. The first and second pump flow conduits may have sensors installed to identify the fluid being pumped, such as air or oil, and a data processing device in communication with the sensors may evaluate fluid to determine system operation, and to estimate pump operating conditions and fluid viscosity in order to enhance pump flow by operation of heaters, and to verify correct maintenance of oil levels and that the reserve reservoir has oil. Data is suitable for transmitting.

  • Publication number: 20160219301
Abstract: The present embodiments introduce a new type of random access point in video bitstreams that can be used for random access operations but can be represented in encoded form at a lower bit-cost as compared to IRAP pictures. The random access point is a dependent random access point (DRAP) picture that is encoded and decoded using an IRAP picture and/or a previous, according to a decoding order, DRAP picture as sole reference picture(s) for the DRAP picture. The DRAP picture is encoded as a trailing picture that may be used for reference and constitutes a random access point in a video bitstream.

  • Publication number: 20160217196
Abstract: A system and method enable the selection of a time range, or other record selection criteria, of database records for upload from a local database source and for transfer to a remote database. A specifically bounded time period is selected to limit the number of data records selected for upload in a particular action to those records that are individually associated with date time stamp values falling within the specified time period. This limitation of records selected for inclusion in an upload process to data records having associations with date time stamps falling within a limited time range, or other criteria, reduces a likelihood of overload in transferring data and thereby reduces the incidence of time-outs in the communication of a local database, any intermediary server or software action, and the remote database in an updating of the recipient database to reflect a current state of the local database.

  • Publication number: 20160217090
Abstract: To accommodate multiple masters over bus architectures supporting a single master device, a mechanism is provided for an inactive master device to assert an in-band IRQ. A current master then polls the other inactive master devices over a shared data bus to ascertain which inactive master device is asserting the IRQ. Upon identifying the asserting inactive master device, the current master device grants control of the data bus to the new master device, thereby making the inactive master the new active master device.

  • Publication number: 20160218867
Abstract: Quantum secure communication systems communicate quantum signals for quantum key distribution and classical signals with encrypted data and commands via a single optical fiber. In some systems, the single fiber carries classical data in both directions along with quantum communications. For example, quantum keys can be used to encrypt packets for bidirectional communication between two parties. In other systems, a single fiber is used for one way classical communications and quantum communications. The communication systems are secured using a security parameter based on the quantum and classical communications across the optical fiber.

  • Publication number: 20160217346
Abstract: A method for determining a level of haze within a field of view of an image sensor adapted for detecting a plurality of color components includes collecting a first image of the field of view at a first point in time, defining regions of the first image as a reference and determining reference intensities for each color component. At least one second image is collected at different points in time and intensities for each color component are determined and compared against the reference intensities. If the intensities of second image differ from the reference intensities by more than a predetermined threshold, all or a portion of the second image is designated as being obscured by haze and requiring correction.

  • Publication number: 20160218638
Abstract: An inverter phase leg for a DC-AC inverter includes a high supply line and a low supply line across which a DC voltage is provided. A high side gate controlled switch is connected to the high supply line and a low side gate controlled switch is connected to the low supply line, with an output node between the high side switch and the low side switch. An inverting driver is connected to the high side gate controlled switch. The inverting driver's voltage source is configured in such a way as to hold the high side gate controlled switch off during the turn on cycle until the driver output has overcome the negative bias generated across the high side switch gate, producing high immunity to spurious turn on. A digital isolator is connected between the inverting driver and a control signal for switching the inverter phase leg. A differential transmitter and differential receiver may be used to further increase noise immunity.
