  • Publication number: 20220014564
Abstract: An application-centric authorization model utilizes locally-evaluated rules derived from non-local policies and provided to the application via an authorization object, preferably in the subject's session context. Preferably, the approach does not involve a runtime determination regarding the policy or policies; rather, one or more existing policies are merely used to derive authorization rules associated with a subject, and which are then evaluated and enforced at runtime in a computationally-efficient manner within the local runtime context of the application or service.

  • Publication number: 20220008910
Abstract: Automated biological testing systems may advantageously allow users to perform some maintenance or upkeep of the system, such as replacing or refilling reagent, or replacing gaskets, hoses, filters, and other components. A manifold seal and filtration system including a gasket, retaining ring, and filter is usable with a manifold of such a system to transport reagent from a bottle to the testing system. The gasket includes features to prevent leakage and erroneous installation, and may be replaced by a user during normal maintenance or to select a gasket material to accommodate a particular type of reagent. The retention ring and filter include features to prevent particulate from passing into the testing system when reagent bottles are changed, and to prevent accidental displacement during removal of the gasket, or flushing of the manifold to clean the filter.

  • Patent number: 11222468
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes instructing, at a first time, a camera with multiple pixel sensors to capture a first image of an environment comprising an object to determine a first object pose of the object. Based on the first object pose, the method determines a predicted object pose of the object at a second time. The method determines a predicted camera pose of the camera at the second time. The method generates pixel-activation instructions based on a projection of a 3D model of the object having the predicted object pose onto a virtual image plane associated with the predicted camera pose. The method instructs, at the second time, the camera to use a subset of the plurality of pixel sensors to capture a second image of the environment according to the pixel-activation instructions. The method determines, based on the second image, a second object pose of the object.

  • Patent number: 11222516
Abstract: Methods, systems and computing devices are described herein for monitoring a premises when residents or other users are present in order to detect patterns of activity at the premises. Such patterns may comprise, for example, a typical schedule indicating usage of one or more devices by one or more users of the premises. When a user is away or otherwise inactive, commands may be sent to various user devices to make it appear (e.g., to those outside the premises) as if the user is present by simulating and/or recreating the patterns that were previously detected.

  • Patent number: 11220027
Abstract: A mandrel for processing a part is described that includes a solid mandrel body with an elastomeric material, and hollow micro-particles embedded within the solid mandrel body in a uniform distribution. The hollow micro-particles deform in response to a change in a processing environment resulting in a distribution of voids in the solid mandrel body. A method for fabricating a composite part is also described that includes placing a base composite layer into a cavity of a tooling surface, inserting the mandrel into the cavity, applying a skin to the mandrel and the base composite layer forming a package, enclosing the package in a vacuum bag and curing the base composite layer and the skin such that during curing the hollow micro-particles deform resulting in the distribution of voids in the solid mandrel body, and removing the mandrel from the cavity of the tooling surface following the curing.

  • Patent number: 11224014
Abstract: Power management for remote units in a wireless distribution system. Power can be managed for a remote unit configured to power modules and devices that may require more power to operate than power available to the remote unit. For example, the remote unit may be configured to include power-consuming remote unit modules to provide communication services. As another example, the remote unit may be configured to provide power through powered ports in the remote unit to power-consuming devices. Depending on the configuration of the remote unit, the power-consuming remote unit modules and/or power-consuming devices may demand more power than is available at the remote unit. In this instance, the power available at the remote unit can be distributed to the power-consuming modules and devices based on the priority of services desired to be provided by the remote unit.
