  • Publication number: 20170064723
Abstract: A method is provided for controlling wireless connection of a device having a wireless communication interface to a wireless access point. The method includes: determining, by the device, if a known wireless access point is available by comparing a determined location of the device with geographical information associated with a set of known wireless access points; if the known wireless access point is available, determining, by the device, a time elapsed since a most recent data communication activity of the device; and disabling the wireless communication interface of the device if the time elapsed is less than an idle time threshold value so as to prevent wireless connection of the device to the known wireless access point.

  • Publication number: 20170058699
Abstract: The present invention provides a casing assembly for a gas turbine engine comprising a radially inner casing and a radially outer casing. The assembly further comprises an axial mounting arrangement for mounting the inner casing and outer casing in a fixed axial relationship. The axial mounting arrangement allows radial movement of the outer casing relative to the inner casing such that distortion of the inner casing as a result of engine carcass loads on the outer casing is obviated as the inner casing is radially isolated from the outer casing.

  • Publication number: 20170060781
Abstract: A technique that reduces the startup time of a processing system authenticates a proxy for an image stored in tracked memory instead of authenticating the image stored in the tracked memory. A controller generates an alteration log authentication code based on an alteration log that is updated prior to programming the image stored in tracked memory. The controller records an alteration log authentication code in secure memory. The alteration log is indirectly related to a most recent image stored in the tracked memory. Authentication of the image of the alteration log is used as a proxy for authentication of the image stored in tracked memory, which is performed only when the tracked memory is modified. Use of the contents of the alteration log as a proxy for the contents of tracked memory accelerates the startup time of the system.

  • Publication number: 20170057100
Abstract: Provided are end effectors and methods of using such end effectors for handling various composite structures. An end effector includes a support structure bendable relative the principal axis of the end effector. The support structure is disposed within a cavity partially formed by an engaging portion of the end effector. The engaging portion is formed from a flexible material and includes multiple openings in fluid communication with the cavity. When the engaging portion contacts a composite structure and when the pressure inside the cavity is reduced below the ambient level, the composite structure is forced against the engaging portion due to this pressure differential. The flexibility of the support structure and of the engaging portion allows the end effector to conform to the shape of the composite structure. At the same time, the support structure maintains the shape of the cavity in the directions normal to the principal axis.

  • Publication number: 20170059489
Abstract: A cleaning audit solution that allows a user to determine how well a surface has been cleaned is provided herein. Embodiments of the present invention are used to determine the effectiveness or proficiency of cleaning activities performed on a surface. Embodiments of the present invention are mixtures that are be sprayed on a wide variety of surface types; the embodiments remaining invisible to the naked eye until exposed to ultraviolet light. If, after cleaning activities have been performed, a substantial amount of the present invention remains on a surface, the effectiveness of the cleaning activity is substandard. However, if very little or none of the present invention can be seen on a surface after cleaning, the effectiveness of the cleaning is high.

  • Publication number: 20170062186
Abstract: A system for controlling RF power supplies applying power to a load, such as a plasma chamber, includes a master power supply and a slave power supply. The master power supply provides a control signal, such as a frequency and phase signal, to the slave power supply. The slave power supply receives the frequency and phase signal and also receives signals characteristic of the spectral emissions detected from the load. The slave RF power supply varies the phase and power of its RF output signal applied to the load. Varying the power controls the width of an ion distribution function, and varying the phase controls a peak of the ion distribution. Depending upon the coupling between the RF generators and the load, different spectral emissions are detected, including first harmonics, second harmonics, and, in the case of a dual frequency drive system, intermodulation distortion.
