  • Patent number: 11189277
Abstract: In speech processing systems personalization is added in the Natural Language Understanding (NLU) processor by incorporating external knowledge sources of user information to improve entity recognition performance of the speech processing system. Personalization in the NLU is effected by incorporating one or more dictionaries of entries, or gazetteers, with information personal to a respective user, that provide the user's information to permit disambiguation of semantic interpretation for input utterances to improve quality of speech processing results.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 13, 2019
Date of Patent: November 30, 2021
    Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.
Inventors: Imre Attila Kiss, Arthur Richard Toth, Lambert Mathias

  • Publication number: 20160379638
Abstract: A system matches text-to-speech (TTS) or other output to a quality of an input spoken utterance. The system uses trained models to detect a speech quality and generates an indicator of the speech quality. The speech quality may be determined from audio or non-audio data. The indicator is sent to downstream components of the system such as a command processor or TTS system. The output of the system is then determined using the indicator of speech quality, thus customizing an output of the system to the manner in which the utterance was spoken.

  • Publication number: 20060193978
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for economic treatment of Geldhart class C or larger substrate powders of single or plural metal, ceramic, or polymeric materials. In particular, the present invention is directed to coating such powder via a fluidized CVD or PVD, electroless, electrochemical, or solution chemistry plating process, and provides processes and apparatus for accomplishing same. It is particularly suited to coating with single or plural layers of metal, ceramic, binder, sintering aid, or polymer onto such materials without agglomeration. The coated particles and products made therefrom exhibit novel physical properties that are not limited by classical chemical and thermodynamic constraints.

  • Publication number: 20050275143
Abstract: A method of consolidating particulate materials into articles having combinations of properties not available by conventional processes by liquid phase sintering. These particulate materials are comprised of core particles individually coated with layers of a metal compound having a relatively higher fracture toughness than the core, such as WC or TaC. These coated particles include an outer layer comprised a metal, such as Co or Ni. The particles with these coatings are pressed to form an article and the article densified at pressures and temperatures where full density is achieved without the degradation of the material forming the core particle.
