  • Patent number: 9691208
Abstract: Mechanisms for validating the authenticity of an item. A reader device records authentication data that is obscured in a label. The authentication data is provided to a remote authentication server via a network. The reader device receives, from the remote authentication server, an authentication response based on the authentication data. Based at least in part on the authentication response, the reader device displays an indication that identifies whether the item is authentic.

  • Patent number: 8717182
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved method, system, and mechanism for a reader mechanism for a container-based approach for monitoring the history and/or quality of a consumable product. According to one approach, a monitoring mechanism is affixed to a wine container (e.g., a wine bottle) to monitor the handling/storage history and/or the drinkability of the wine inside the container. One or more environmental sensors are associated with the monitoring mechanism which tracks environmental conditions that may affect the wine. The tracked environmental conditions are analyzed to determine and/or indicate the drinkability of the wine. A reader mechanism is used to access and/or control the monitoring mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20130318819
Abstract: A fabric-covered fluid-filled therapeutic foot orthotic with thong-cut device system comprising: a top substrate having fabric covering: a bottom substrate having fabric covering; a high viscosity fluid-filled arch supporting, massaging and comforting-medium; a series of dot welds placed distally of the metatarsal arch; a series of dot welds on a longitudinal arc through the medial arch; a longitudinal swatch weld towards the lateral mid-foot for directional flow and restriction of fluid towards the lateral mid foot; a rearwardly-placed half-moon shaped indentation; a front bladder seal seam; a heel dot weld; and a single forwardly-orientated indented trim line. The design permits the orthotic to be positioned into closed in shoes for transferring further towards the front of the a thong cut sandal to provide a ‘correct fit’ without losing any effectiveness of the arch support or therapeutic value while eliminating all unnecessary trim lines.

  • Patent number: 7740682
Abstract: An improved composite material, and method of manufacture thereof, comprising varying amounts tungsten powder, or metal/alloy powder of similar density, and clay or silicone is disclosed. The improved composite material may be useful as a replacement for lead and lead-based composites where similar densities are required but the use of lead is undesirable. The disclosed composite material permits a large variety of tungsten powder particle sizes to be utilized and results in improved ductility over known tungsten powder composites.

  • Publication number: 20080086697
Abstract: A system and method for information display based on a family of display screens for displaying information derived from numerous data sources. Each display screen includes function controls as well as indicator controls. The function controls link a first level display screen to subsidiary display screens. A capacity is provided for saving defined display screen formats and for generating a custom display screen based on function controls which were previously defined in defined display screens. Also disclosed is a method of using a family of display screens for managing access to information and displaying that information.
