Abstract: A compound of the formula ##SPC1##Wherein X and R are as defined hereinafter, at least one of X and R being other than hydrogen, are provided and which are useful as central nervous system stimulants and for inducing increased motor activity as well as in vitro antimicrobial agents.

Abstract: Compounds having the formula ##SPC1##Wherein A is a straight or branched chain alkylene group; R.sub.1 is hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, nitro, amino, or cyano; and R.sub.2 is hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, trifluoromethyl, nitro, amino, or cyano; and n is 1 or 2, with the proviso that when n is 2, R.sub.1 is alkyl, alkoxy, or halogen; are useful central nervous system depressants.

Abstract: Compounds of the following formula and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts ##SPC1##Wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.4 are the same or different and are each a five or six membered N containing heterocycle attached at an available N atom; R.sub.2 is hydrogen, alkyl, trifluoromethyl, phenyl, benzyl, --(CH.sub.2).sub.n --R.sub.4 or --(CH.sub.2).sub.n --N(alkyl).sub.2 ; R.sub.3 is hydrogen, halogen, nitro, trifluoromethyl, alkyl, alkoxy, or alkylthio; and n is an integer from 1 to 4; are disclosed. These compounds are useful as anti-inflammatory agents.

Abstract: Triazolo[4,3-d][1,4]benzodiazepine-3,6-diones having in the 2-position an alkyl, phenyl or arylalkyl substituent are useful anti-inflammatory agents.

Abstract: Compounds of the following formula and their acid addition salts ##SPC1##Wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are independently selected from hydrogen, halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkylthio, nitro, cyano, amino and trifluoromethyl; A is a straight or branched chain alkylene of 1 to 8 carbons; R.sup.3 is phenyl or substituted phenyl; and R is lower alkyl or cycloalkyl of 3 to 7 carbons are disclosed. These compounds exhibit antidepressant activity. In addition these compounds are useful as antiinflammatory agents.

Abstract: Novel 1,2,4-benzothiadiazines substituted with an amino, alkylamino, or dialkylamino group in the 3-position are useful as central nervous system depressants and as diuretics.

Abstract: Compounds of the structure ##SPC1##Are provided which are useful as anti-inflammatory agents.Compounds having the structure ##SPC2##Wherein R is lower alkyl, phenyl, or benzyl and X is hydrogen, halogen, nitro, trifluoromethyl, alkyl, alkoxy or alkylthio, are useful as anti-inflammatory agents.The term "alkyl", as used throughout the specification, either by itself or as part of a larger group, refers to both straight and branched chain alkyl groups containing 1, 2, 3 or 4 carbon atoms.The term "alkoxy", as used throughout the specification, refers to a group of the formula Y--O--, wherein Y is alkyl as defined above.The term "halogen", as used throughout the specification, refers to fluorine, chlorine, bromine, and iodine.Preferred are those compounds wherein R is alkyl and X is hydrogen or halogen; most preferred are those compounds wherein R is methyl and X is 5-Cl.The compounds of formula I are useful in the treatment of inflammatory conditions in mammalian speices, e.g., rats, dogs, cats, monkeys, etc.
