  • Publication number: 20220204995
Abstract: Compositions and methods are provided for integrating one or more genes of interest into cellular DNA without substantially disrupting the expression of the gene at the locus of integration, i.e., the target locus. These compositions and methods are useful in any in vitro or in vivo application in which it is desirable to express a gene of interest in the same spatially and temporally restricted pattern as that of a gene at a target locus while maintaining the expression of the gene at the target locus, for example, to treat disease, in the production of genetically modified organisms in agriculture, in the large scale production of proteins by cells for therapeutic, diagnostic, or research purposes, in the induction of iPS cells for therapeutic, diagnostic, or research purposes, in biological research, etc. Reagents, devices and kits thereof that find use in practicing the subject methods are also provided.

  • Patent number: 8865989
Abstract: Important new descriptors (Down Force Slope and Up Force Slope), which more fully and meaningfully characterize the continuous Down Force and Up Force are revealed. Similar descriptors are also created to more fully characterize the Balance Force and Frictional Force curves. The invention also discloses various methods and means for accurately testing, measuring and determining other parameters (including the position of the at-rest key, key sluggishness, and others characterizing the “let-off” event) in an accurate and efficient manner. Methods of quantifying and measuring the actual inertia of a key action—in a non-invasive manner—are also disclosed, with several inertial parameters being defined. Methods for quantifying and measuring the actual inertia of the major individual components of a key action are also detailed, along with parameters and methods for expressing their contribution “at the key”.

  • Patent number: 8049090
Abstract: New parameters (Down Force, Up Force, Balance Force, and Average Friction) are defined for evaluating important “stroke characteristics” of individual key actions of one or more pianos or keyboards, describing exactly how these parameters are to be tested, measured and determined. The new parameters are designed to replace the prior art parameters of Down Weight, Up Weight, Balance Weight and Friction. Various methods, means and apparatus are disclosed for accurately testing, measuring and determining these new parameters, with the capability of performing thousands of measurements—on thousands of different key mechanisms—in a short amount of time.

  • Patent number: 7377848
Abstract: A variable air circulation system for the cab enclosure of an off-highway vehicle is disclosed and described. The system provides for adjustment of the ratio between fresh air circulation and recirculation of cab air. Fresh air is introduced into the cab through a fresh air inlet having a fresh air filter therein. The air inlet leads to a circulation conduit. When a cab door is opened, a valve to the conduit is opened. When the door is closed, the air pulse created in the cab is effective, through the valve, to dislodge dust and dirt from the filter.

  • Patent number: 7338357
Abstract: A fixed air circulation system for the cab enclosure of an off-highway vehicle is disclosed. Fresh air is introduced into the cab through a fresh air inlet having a fresh air filter therein. The air inlet leads, through a manifold or fresh air duct, to the inside of the operator's compartment. When a cab door is opened, a bypass valve to the conduit is opened. When the door is closed, the air pulse created in the cab is effective, through the bypass valve or normal openings with the blower off, to dislodge dust and dirt from the filter.
