  • Publication number: 20010002042
Abstract: An aqueous composition formed by mixing a hydrolysable silicon compound having a low solubility in water (e.g a fluorosilane), a major proportion of water, and a surfactant, also contains an effective amount of a co-solvent (e.g. certain glycol ethers) which is sparingly soluble in water to improve the stability of the composition. The composition may be used for surface treatment.

  • Patent number: 5851980
Abstract: Disclosed herein are hard surface cleaners and methods for creating and using them. The cleaners combine a monocarboxylic acid with an ampholytic surfactant having no carboxyl groups, in an aqueous solution. In one aspect, lactic acid, water, and sodium caprylo ampho hydroxpropyl sulphonate are present.

  • Patent number: 5411585
Abstract: A method of improving the stability and broadening the range of pH stability of an aqueous solution of from about 0.001% to 5% by weight of a water soluble organosilane containing hydrolyzable groups such as methyltrimethoxysilane, 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyldimethyloctadecyl ammonium chloride and 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propylmethyldi(decyl) ammonium chloride by the use of 0.05% to 10% by weight of a water soluble organic quaternary ammonium compound having at least one nitrogen-bonded hydrocarbon group of at least 8 carbon atoms and being free of silicon atoms, such as benzalkonium chloride, along with from about 0.5% to 30% by weight of at least one surfactant selected from the group consisting of nonionic, amphoteric sarcosine anionic, and cationic surfactants other than the water soluble quaternary ammonium compounds. The pH of the solution can be adjusted to from about 1 to about 13.5 with a suitable acid or base.

  • Patent number: 4151138
Abstract: A solid preparation from which a reconstituted emulsion bright-drying optionally rebuffable floor finish containing emulsion polymer, alkali-dispersible wax and optionally an alkali-soluble resin in dry particulate form which may be obtained by dehydration of an aqueous dispersion of the emulsion polymer, the wax and optionally the alkali-soluble resin at a temperature below the minimum film-forming temperature of the composition.
