Abstract: A stent delivery system and a method for delivering a stent are provided. The stent delivery system includes an outer sheath having a proximal portion, a distal portion and a first lumen extending at least partially through the sheath. The system further includes an inner shaft slidably received within the first lumen and extending at least partially through the sheath. A tubular non-expandable stent is slidably positionable within the first lumen, disposed distal to the inner shaft and operably contacts a pushing surface on the inner shaft. The inner shaft and the stent are slidable relative to the outer sheath, the outer sheath providing sufficient rigidity to the stent for delivery of the stent to a delivery site.

Abstract: A sphincterotome having a portion of its drive wire coated with a material selected from poly-p-xylylene, 2-chloro-p-xylylene, 2,4-dichloro-p-xylylene, poly(tetraflouro-p-xylylene), poly(carboxyl-p-xylylene-co-p-xylylene), fluorinated parylene, parylene HT, and any combination thereof. The coating preferably provides an electroinsulated coating on a portion of the drive wire exposed outside the sphincterotome shaft such that a non-electroinsulated portion of the exposed drive wire may be targeted more specifically to tissue desired to be cut.

Abstract: A lithotriptor device embodiment is provided including a lithotriptor that has a proximal handle, an elongate shaft extending distally from the handle with a lumen extending through a major length of the elongate shaft, and a wire basket distally attached to a drive wire. The drive wire extends through the lumen of the elongate shaft and is operatively connected to the handle. The device includes a drill mechanism assembly with a drill bit disposed near the distal end of the elongate shaft.
