  • Patent number: 9714733
Abstract: A connector is provided for connecting an auxiliary device to a fluid circulating system. The connector comprises a body with inlet and outlet ports for connection to the fluid circulating system, and an auxiliary port for connection to the auxiliary device. The auxiliary port diverts fluid from the inlet to the auxiliary device and returns fluid to the outlet port. A collar surrounds the auxiliary port, secured by two spring clips. When the spring clips are both locked, movement between the connector and auxiliary device is prevented. When the first clip is released and the second clip is locked, rotation between the connector and the auxiliary device about the central axis and a predetermined amount of movement along the axis is permitted. The connector can be fitted in a variety of orientations relative to the auxiliary device and angular adjustment is possible while the two remain connected and sealed.

  • Patent number: 9169930
Abstract: A seal assembly includes a semi-tubular sealing element defining a longitudinal axis, and a retainer configured to retain the sealing element. The sealing element has a longitudinal center portion and first and second longitudinal side portions, an array of resilient arcuate fingers extending from the first longitudinal side portion and curving partially around the longitudinal axis, and a depressor portion extending from the second longitudinal side portion and having a free edge diametrically opposed to the center portion. The retainer defines a channel with an entrance opening, the channel being configured to receive the sealing element in a position in which the depressor portion extends outside of the entrance opening in position to bear a load, the channel being defined by a pair of opposed side walls configured to resiliently capture the sealing element.

  • Publication number: 20140035272
Abstract: A connector is provided for connecting an auxiliary device, such as a filter, to a fluid circulating system, such as a central heating system. The connector comprises a body with inlet and outlet ports, suitable for connection to the fluid circulating system, and an auxiliary port suitable for connection to the auxiliary device. The auxiliary port has a central axis and diverts fluid from the inlet to the auxiliary device and returns fluid therefrom to the outlet port. A collar surrounds the auxiliary port. First and second releasable locking means secure the collar to the auxiliary device. The locking means are arranged such that when both are locked relative movement between the connector and the auxiliary device is prevented. However, when the first locking means is released and the second locking means is locked, relative rotation between the connector and the auxiliary device about the central axis is permitted, and a predetermined amount of relative movement along the axis is also permitted.
