  • Publication number: 20190114299
Abstract: A computing device selects a sample of data values from an existing data column in a data source. The device generates statistics describing occurrence of consistent delimiters within the sample of data values. The device identifies a first delimiting location within the sample of data values in accordance with the generated statistics. It also creates first and second new data values by splitting each data value in the existing data column at the first identified delimiting location. It stores the first and second new data values in first and second new data columns, respectively, and assigns field names to the first and second new data columns. The device further displays, in a data visualization user interface, the assigned field names and a data visualization generated according to the first new data values based on user selection of the assigned field name of the first new data column.

  • Patent number: 10216919
Abstract: Data loss prevention (DLP) systems may be implemented in conjunction with collaborative services that may be integrated with or work in coordination with productivity services. Administrators may be enabled to configure DLP policies in the collaborative service to mitigate their organization's information disclosure risks, along with the detection and remediation of sensitive information. Access blocking may be one feature of the DLP system, where provision of access blocking may include determining if a detected action associated with content processed by the collaborative service matches access blocking criteria defined by DLP policy rules. In response to the determination that the action matches at least one access blocking criterion defined by the DLP policy rules, a block access tag associated with the content may be activated, previously defined permissions associated with the content may be ignored or altered, and access to the content may be restricted to a number of predefined users.

  • Patent number: 9754098
Abstract: A policy tip or end user notification is provided for data loss prevention in collaborative environments. A document interactivity application detects an action or trigger by an end user that affects a document. The document is processed, through a classification engine and a unified policy engine, with policies based on the action to detect a matched policy. A policy tip associated with the matched policy is identified and displayed on the display device in association with the document.

  • Publication number: 20160012102
Abstract: In response to receiving a request for a query, one or more property values associated with the query may be defined in conjunction with the query to generate a contextually linked query. The contextually linked query may include a first property that provides a context for subsequent properties, where the subsequent properties may be concatenated to and provide a constraint on the first property. In some examples, the first property may be a sensitive data type property defining a type of sensitive data being queried, and the subsequent properties may be contextual properties, such as a sensitive match count or sensitive match confidence property. The contextually linked query may be submitted to a data store, and the query may be executed with the first property and/or the subsequent properties being applied to a same data set without a need for distinct columns for each property at the data store.

  • Patent number: 8085959
Abstract: A hearing compensation system comprises a plurality of bandpass filters having an input connected to an input transducer and each bandpass filter having an output connected to the input of one of a plurality of multiplicative automatic gain control (MAGC) circuits whose outputs are summed together and connected to the input of an output transducer. The MAGC circuits attenuate acoustic signals having a constant background level without the loss of speech intelligibility. The identification of the background noise portion of the acoustic signal is made by the constancy of the envelope of the input signal in each of the several frequency bands. The background noise that will be suppressed includes multi-talker speech babble, fan noise, feedback whistle, florescent light hum, and white noise.

  • Patent number: 7714892
Abstract: Disclosed are various systems, devices and methods for digital camera image stabilization. In one embodiment, a digital camera captures a plurality of digital images of a subject simultaneously or near-simultaneously and stores the captured images in memory as individual digital data sets. While the digital images are being captured simultaneously or near-simultaneously by means of a plurality of rolling shutters, a relative position determination device such as an angular rate sensor is employed to sense and save to memory data representative of the relative positions of the digital camera at the moments the individual digital images or frames are being exposed. Spatial shift directions and magnitudes are calculated in a processor of the camera on the basis of such data, and then applied to the individual data sets to form aligned data sets comprising aligned data points.

  • Publication number: 20090018860
Abstract: A method and computer program for facilitating back office check conversion in a retail establishment, such as during reconciliation of cash drawers. The method broadly includes the steps of retrieving first check data from a point of sale system; imaging the check to capture second check data; comparing the first and second check data to confirm that they are substantially identical; determining whether the check is eligible for automated processing; and, if so, adding the image of the check to an electronic file for subsequent transmission of the check data to a financial institution. The method may also include allowing for scheduling automatic resubmission of a returned check. The method may also include maintaining a database of the check data, and allowing for accessing and searching the database for particular check data via an electronic network.

  • Patent number: 5917835
Abstract: A method and system for mitigating and compensating for loss of digital audio data transmitted as a stream of packets to a client (30). A server (10) compresses digital audio data corresponding to a digitized analog audio signal. The compressed data are divided into N frames of data per packet. The server interleaves the frames, producing interleave packets of up to order N. The interleave operation minimizes the effect of any lost packet when the interleave packets are received, deinterleaved, and converted to an analog signal that is played on a speaker at the client. Lost frames are replaced using the data from frames that are received. As a further aspect, the frames can be scrambled at the server by applying a permutation function F that depends upon the packet number (PN) and a Key value. At the client, an inverse permutation function F.sup.-1 is applied to unscramble the frames.
