Abstract: A conditionally replicating, aneurovirulent recombinant herpes simplex virus is provided that includes a nucleic acid encoding an expressible chemokine. An expression control element is operably linked to the nucleic acid. A therapeutic composition includes a first conditionally replicating, aneurovirulent recombinant herpes simplex virus having a first nucleic acid encoding a first expressible cytokine operatively linked to an expression control element. A second such herpes simplex virus encoding a second expressible cytokine is also provided with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. Preferably, the second cytokine is a chemokine. In a particular embodiment, the first expressible cytokine increases availability of an immunoresponsive cell for activation. The activatable cell is CD4+, CD8+, NK, a dendritic cell, or a combination thereof.

Abstract: Method and system for input and output of data with non-standard I/O devices for web and other applications. In one aspect, non-standard input data is received from the non-standard input device at a client, and the non-standard input data is provided as equivalent standard input data to the standard browser running on the client, so that the standard browser can submit the input data to an application running on a server in communication with the client over a network. In another aspect, a server receives a request from a user, and requested data and instructions are sent to the client, where a standard browser running on the client receives the data and instructions and the data can be sent to be output by a non-standard output device in communication with the client.

Abstract: A reactive power compensator is provided which uses a power converter to deliberately draw or supply out of phase currents such that these can develop voltage drops of a desired phase angle across the reactance of a cable, to improve that total voltage loss and/or system power factor.
