  • Patent number: 9782690
Abstract: An arbor trap apparatus for use with a counterweight rigging system having at least one counterweight arbor. The apparatus may include a trap housing for attachment to a support structure, and at least one catch blade for attachment to the counterweight arbor. The catch blade may enter the trap housing as the counterweight arbor moves generally towards the trap housing, and the trap housing may engage the catch blade to prevent the counterweight arbor from moving generally away from the trap housing. The trap housing may transfer load from the counterweight arbor to the support structure and prevent a runaway.

  • Patent number: 8814119
Abstract: An arbor apparatus for use in a counterweight rigging system includes a support structure for supporting counterweight bricks in stacked arrangement. The arbor apparatus can be front-loading with left side, back and right side supports. The arbor apparatus can include a plurality of shelf members spaced apart in a longitudinal direction between the top and bottom ends. The arbor apparatus can also include a gate mechanism. The arbor apparatus can be implemented as a retrofit to existing manual counterweight rigging systems.

  • Publication number: 20110042634
Abstract: A rigging system for raising and lowering a load includes at least one tether suspended between first and second spaced apart connection points. A hoist apparatus is selectively movable along the at least one tether and is coupled to the load so that movement of the hoist apparatus causes the raising and lowering of the load. The hoist apparatus can include drive pulleys and guide pulleys. A connection apparatus for connecting a tether to a fixed surface includes a base plate, a spring mechanism, at least at least one end plate, and a bushing member coupling the second end of the spring mechanism to the end plate. Tension on the tether causes the spring mechanism to compress and reduce distance between the end and base plates.
