  • Patent number: 7272009
Abstract: A heat sink retention apparatus includes a base member and a heat sink mount including a pivotal base coupler and a board mounting member, whereby the heat sink mount is operable to mount to a board by engaging the pivotal base coupler with the base member and engaging the board mounting member with the board. A cable routing member and a connector storage member may be included on the heat sink mount for the routing of cables and the storing of connectors. A card retention device may be provided which is operable to couple to the heat sink mount and engage a card to retain the card on the board.

  • Publication number: 20070176607
Abstract: Information handling system chassis RF shielding is accurately characterized in a repeatable and rapid manner with a stirring device disposed within the chassis. An RF signal from an RF signal source disposed in the chassis emits a more homogeneous and uniform field due to movement of reflective surfaces of the stirring device within the chassis. For example, an RF receiver located outside the chassis measures the RF signal received from the chassis over one or more complete revolutions of the stirring device to provide improved uniformity of the RF field maximized or averaged over each revolution. The reflective surface is interchangeable to support testing of shielding for chassis of different sizes and rotate vertically and horizontally to average out both vertical and horizontal polarization.

  • Patent number: 6570755
Abstract: A computer chassis includes a metal chassis base portion and a metal chassis top portion. A pivotal connection is provided between the top portion and the base portion for movement of the top portion between an open position and a closed position with the base portion. A tongue and groove edge connection extends between the top portion and the base portion. An adhesive free gasket is mounted in the groove for sealing engagement with the tongue.

  • Patent number: 6525267
Abstract: A chassis discontinuity seal includes a gasket member comprising a compressible material with an interruption on its peripheral surface and a flexible sealing material spanning the interruption. The gasket member is placed on a first surface for sealing engagement with a mating closure surface. The compressible material has a first density and the interruption defines an elongated portion of the gasket having a second density, less than the first density. The gasket may be used in any shielding enclosure where it is desirable to reduce the compression force while maintaining high surface conductivity.
