    Abstract: A presentation apparatus is provided for use with a contact image sensor used for scanning the contents of a document. The presentation apparatus includes a base member adapted to be disposed above the surface of the contact image sensor, a first spring arm extending from the base member and a contact member extending vertically from the first spring arm. The first spring arm urges the contact member into contact with the surface for ensuring flat contact between the document and the surface as the document passes therebetween.

    Abstract: A device and method for extracting wadded documents from a track of a document processor is provided. The device has a longitudinal body portion with surfaces defining an extraction aperture. The body portion also has ends defining an opening in the extraction aperture and surfaces defining a channel, wherein the channel extends between the ends. The extraction device further includes a tension member disposed within the channel and extending across the opening in the extraction aperture. The body portion further includes a securing member for placing the tension member under a desired tension such that damage to the track is avoided.

    Abstract: Noncontact sensors project fanned or structured light onto the tire, while the wheel is rotated, to illuminate at least two contour lines on the surface of the tire. the contour lines are read by video cameras, positioned offset from the optical plane of the structured light, to allow triangulation in determining the spatial position of the contour lines. Radially equivalent points are selected from each contour line by an algorithm which ignores the effects of any raised lettering on the tire sidewalls. Control of the video cameras and processing of the video data is performed by parallel processor-based computer system coordinated by sequencer circuit.

    Abstract: A quick release mounting arrangement for a portable gauging sensor utilizes three locating surfaces to establish a positive, repeatable mounting for the releasable sensor at any desired number of locations on a gauging fixture. A landing pad at each mounting location provides a depressed cavity in a first face for receipt of a first locating surface carried by the sensor housing, and the landing pad further provides a grooved surface in a second face for receipt of the second and third locating surfaces carried by the sensor body. At least one of the three locating surfaces is movable under spring tension to provide a quick connect/disconnect feature to the sensor mounting arrangement.
