  • Patent number: 10487429
Abstract: The tool (10) for textiles according to the invention consists of chromium steel, into which carbon has been embedded in locally varying amounts during a carbonizing process. Thermal treatment achieves a formation of martensite with the maximum achievable hardness, in particular in those zones in which larger carbon fractions have been introduced. A tool for textiles with zones of differing hardnesses can thus be produced without having to subject the individual zones with differing hardnesses to different process conditions during the production process. The hardness is controlled on the basis of the degree of deformation of the tool for textiles.

  • Patent number: 8147560
Abstract: An implant for insertion into a human or animal body which comprises at least one implant part is provided. The at least one implant part has a base member which is produced from an implant material and has a surface which is designed at least partially in the form of an artificial joint surface. Part of or the entire joint surface is covered with a wear-reducing hard material coating, such that a service life of the implant is extended and the compatibility of the implant increased. An intermediate layer is provided between the hard material coating and the at least one joint surface formed from the implant material for the purpose of reducing tension between the hard material coating and the implant material. A corresponding method for production of an implant is also provided.

  • Patent number: 7963192
Abstract: Surgical scissors are provided having two scissor blades mounted for pivotal movement relative to each other about a pivot axis and having one cutting edge each. The scissor blades have, proximal of the pivot axis, one sliding surface area each, the sliding surface areas sliding along each other and the scissor blades contacting each other distally of the pivot axis at a moving point of contact of the cutting edges sliding along each other when the scissors are opened and closed. At least one of the cutting edges is provided with a hard material coating, and at least one of the two sliding surface areas have a first hard material coating-free surface. A method for the manufacture of surgical scissors is also proposed.

  • Publication number: 20090210068
Abstract: In order to improve an implant for insertion into a human or animal body which comprises at least one implant part, wherein the at least one implant part has a base member which is produced from an implant material and has a surface which is designed at least partially in the form of an artificial joint surface, wherein part of or the entire joint surface is covered with a wear-reducing hard material coating, such that a service life of the implant is extended and the compatibility of the implant increased, it is suggested that an intermediate layer be provided between the hard material coating and the at least one joint surface formed from the implant material for the purpose of reducing tension between the hard material coating and the implant material. Furthermore, an improved method for the production of an implant for insertion into a human or animal body is suggested.

  • Publication number: 20080234828
Abstract: In order to improve an implant for replacing a vertebral body or for insertion into an intervertebral cavity between adjacent vertebral bodies of a human or animal spinal column, with a first contact face for resting on a joint face of a first vertebral body and with a second contact face for resting on a joint face of a second vertebral body, the implant being at least partially produced from an X-ray transparent material and comprising at least one X-ray marker in such a way that it can be produced more simply, it is proposed that the at least one X-ray marker is configured in the form of an at least partial marker coating, which contains metal as the marker material, of a side face of the implant, which is inclined relative to the first and/or the second contact face by an angle of inclination.

  • Publication number: 20060095060
Abstract: In order to improve surgical scissors with two scissor blades mounted for pivotal movement relative to each other about a pivot axis and having one cutting edge each, the scissor blades having proximally of the pivot axis one sliding surface area each, the sliding surface areas sliding along each other and the scissor blades contacting each other distally of the pivot axis at a moving point of contact of the cutting edges sliding along each other when the scissors are opened and closed, and at least one of the cutting edges being provided with a hard material coating, so that their service life is further increased, it is proposed that at least one of the two sliding surface areas have a first hard material coating-free surface. A method for the manufacture of surgical scissors is also proposed.
