Publication number: 20160012181Abstract: The present invention is a method for assigning a qualitative importance of relevant genetic phenotypes to the use of specific drugs for individual patients based on genetic test results. The invention provides a drug-centric integration of pharmacogenetic test information across multiple genes relevant to an individual drug. The invention then assigns a color designation for each drug reported and groups the drugs together on a report according to drug class/therapeutic area, thus allowing the physician to easily and quickly identify a drug from a specific drug class that would be best for that patient according to their entire pharmacogenetic test results. The outputs of the method can be added to existing pharmacogenetic test reports as a quick guide for the physician. Such integration of pharmacogenetic information from multiple genes and drug-centric organization of the outputs should allow physicians to more easily utilize and incorporate pharmacogenetic testing into their practice.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 9, 2015Publication date: January 14, 2016Inventors: BILL W. Publication number: 20070016354Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for determining a friction coefficient value (F?) which represents the coefficient of friction present between the underlying surface and a vehicle tire. For this purpose, a wheel slip value (?ij) is determined for at least one vehicle wheel, said value (?ij) describing the wheel slip present at this vehicle wheel. The friction coefficient value (F?) is determined as a function of this wheel slip value (?ij). For this purpose, during a predefined operating state of the vehicle wheel slip values (?ij) are determined at various times, in particular successive times. The frequency distribution of values is determined for these wheel slip values (?ij) or for axle-related slip values (?VA and ?HA) which are determined as a function of these wheel slip values (?ij). The friction coefficient value (F?) is determined by evaluating this frequency distribution of values.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 19, 2004Publication date: January 18, 2007Applicant: DAIMERCHRYSLER AGInventors: Hans-Georg Engel, Sinan Kazan, Frank-Werner Mohn, Martin Wenz, Richard Zimmer

Publication number: 20050261851Abstract: In a method and apparatus for determining the curvature of a curve passing through a plurality of points, the shape of which is defined by a line connecting these points, curvature is assigned to the individual points by determining the position of adjacent points relative to the individual points. The curvature of a point (B) is determined by further taking into account two additional points (A, C), one of which (A) lies on the connecting line forward of the respective point (B) and the other (C) on the connecting line behind the respective point (B). The points (A, C) are determined such that they are as remote as possible from the respective point (B) and, at the same time, no points exist which lie between the respective point (B) and one of the additional points (A, C), and which are farther than a set distance from the connecting lines between the respective point (B) and each of the two additional points (A, C).Type: ApplicationFiled: February 11, 2005Publication date: November 24, 2005Applicant: DaimlerChrysler AGInventors: Daniel Buck, Michael Diebel, Sinan Kazan, Alfred Lotter, Martin Wenz, Richard Zimmer

Patent number: 6926374Abstract: An automatic brake and steering system and method for a vehicle contains a sensor unit for sensing vehicle state and characteristic variables, and ambient conditions. Furthermore, a control unit and actuator devices are provided for setting the vehicle brake system and/or the vehicle steering system. In order to be able to carry out automatic avoidance maneuvers with maximum safety, an avoidance route is determined if there is an obstacle in the path of the vehicle. Thereby, if there is a further obstacle on the avoidance route, the strategy for determining the avoidance route is applied once more. If it is not possible to find a collision-free avoidance route, that route on which the difference between the remaining braking distance and the remaining distance from the obstacle is smallest is selected.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2001Date of Patent: August 9, 2005Assignee: DaimlerChrysler AGInventors: Ingo Dudeck, Rainer Freitag, Gerhard Kurz, Wofgang Lauer, Thomas Roehrig-Gericke, Reinhold Schoeb, Harry Troester, Andy Yap, Richard Zimmer

Patent number: 6082926Abstract: A novel energy absorbing module is described which is relatively inexpensive, easy to make and provides for a relatively consistent crush resistance along its length when impacted axially. The module is made up of a generally cylindrical metal member which is formed from a roll of sheet metal that is wound into a tube having a spiral cross-section. A layer of spacer material, such as polyethylene foam, is placed adjacent the sheet metal so that the winds of the spiral are separated from one another. The energy absorbent module of the present invention provides a relatively constant and predictable level of crush resistance which makes it particularly suitable for such applications as an insert for a guardrail end treatment or other crash barrier. The module is formed by rolling a sheet of metal, or similar material, and the spacer sheet into a tubular or cylindrical form. A portion of one end of the module is then crushed slightly by impact loading.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 1998Date of Patent: July 4, 2000Assignee: Texas A&M University SystemInventor: Richard A.
