  • Patent number: 8425282
Abstract: A power tool accessory is adapted to be mounted to a spindle of a power tool having a power tool housing. The power tool accessory includes a hub, a working element, a bolt, and a nut. The hub includes a first surface and a second surface that is opposite to the first surface. The hub further includes an opening extending through the hub. An axis of rotation of the hub is defined through the opening. The working element is connected to the hub. The bolt includes a head having a cross-section that is greater than the opening of the hub. The bolt further includes a shaft adapted to extend through the opening of the hub. The shaft is adapted to be received on the spindle of the power tool. The nut cooperates with the bolt and includes a head and an aperture extending through the head. The head of the nut has a cross-section that is greater than the opening of the hub. The aperture of the nut is adapted to be received on the shaft of the bolt.

  • Patent number: 5901445
Abstract: A method for making a builder's tool such as a rafter square includes severing a segment from an elongate strip of material, forming a plurality of holes in the segment and marking the segment with dimensional indicia. The segment is then divided into two semi-finished components which are finish-machined to make two of the tools. In more specific aspects of the method, the forming step includes forming, in sequence, first and second sets of holes. The second set of holes includes a tool-receiving hole and the dividing step includes moving a cutting tool along the tool-receiving hole. Most preferably, the method is carried out using a press having a bed with first, second and third work stations, a movable platen carrying first and second hole-punching tools above the first and second work stations, respectively, and a marking tool above the third work station.

  • Patent number: 5279343
Abstract: A router template for use in conjunction with a milling tool to create mortises of predetermined size and spacing in an underlying work surface, such as a door edge and door jamb, for butt hinges, a strike plate, and a latch plate. A plurality of router template bodies having template inserts will accommodate strike plates, latch plates, a variety of hinge sizes, and the typical thickness of these hardware work pieces. The router template bodies may be used in conjunction with a guide bar to provide typical positioning for the hinges along the door edge and jamb. This tool may be used with minimal adjustment.

  • Patent number: 4546346
Abstract: A sewer line backup detection device and alarm are provided which can be installed in place of the cleanout access cap in a conventional sewer line. The device comprises a housing having male connecting threads adapted to fit standard female receptacles which have been used in the past to provide cleanout access to sewer lines, the housing containing alarm means or alarm transmitting means actuated by a pneumatic switch. The pneumatic switch is actuated by a flexible diaphragm which is fitted snugly onto the lower end of the housing which extends into the sewer line. In the event of a blockage of the sewer line, the blocked material exerts pressure on the flexible diaphragm which closes the pneumatic switch thereby setting off an alarm, either locally or at a remote location such as the dwelling from which the sewer line exhausts. The alarm system is utilized especially advantageously in combination with a detention tank located in the basement or lower level of a high rise building.
