  • Patent number: 10237404
Abstract: Systems and techniques are disclosed for establishing inbound calls and outbound calls involving inmates and outside parties. One exemplary technique receives input identifying authorized sources who are authorized to initiate and conduct calls with an inmate and stores a list of the authorized sources. The list, for example, can include telephone numbers, VOIP caller identifiers, and/or call privileges associated with the sources. The technique receives an inbound call directed to the inmate and determines whether the source of the inbound call is authorized or not, for example, by comparing information about the source with information in the list of authorized sources and/or based on the call privileges. If the source is authorized, the call is permitted. If not the technique routes the call to a payment interface for the caller to provide payment information.

  • Publication number: 20190045733
Abstract: The invention is in the field of Brassica carinata breeding (i.e. Ethiopian mustard breeding), specifically relating to the inbred Brassica carinata cultivars designated Brassica carinata AGR044-312D and Brassica carinata AGR044-3A22. The present invention relates to seeds, plants or parts thereof, cells, methods of making, and uses of these cultivars and their progeny. AGR044-312D and AGR044-3A22 may exhibit improved yields relative to existing Brassica carinata commercial varieties. Other properties of these cultivars may include reduced levels of seed glucosinolate, improved disease resistance, and reduced tendency to lodging and pod shatter relative to existing commercial Brassica carinata varieties.

  • Patent number: 9946860
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing services to administrative personnel and other persons using electronic devices in an institution. One method involves receiving an identifier entered as input on an electronic device and receiving a security code entered as input on the portable electronic device or transmitted to the electronic device, wherein the security code was generated by a security token and security codes generated by the security token change over time. The method further involves authenticating the person based on the identifier and the security code and allowing access to one or more administrative services based on the authenticating.

  • Patent number: 9908046
Abstract: Customized wait state experiences for an avatar in a virtual universe are provided by determining user alternative wait context preferences, selecting alternative wait state content objects accordingly, creating a wait state context in the virtual universe system using the alternative wait state content objects, and transporting the waiting avatar to the newly created wait state context for the duration of the wait. The custom context can include scenery, sounds, and even information streams and feeds. The avatar is optionally returned to the original context upon an event, such as a customer service representative, being available and ready to interact with the user. Artificial intelligence processes are optionally used to determine probable wait state context preferences for the user. Rewards may be given to the user for waiting, and for completing games or challenges.

  • Patent number: 9760914
Abstract: Methods, systems and apparatus for determining a proposed cost for use of sensor resources and selecting a method of processing of sensed data are presented. Such a method includes the steps of: predicting a state of an environment, obtaining at least one criterion related to the use of the sensor resources comprising one or more data sensors, determining the proposed cost for use of the sensor resources, acquiring the sensed data from the one or more data sensors, determining a characteristic of the sensed data, and selecting the method of processing the sensed data according to the determined characteristic and the predicted state. The at least one criterion is based upon the predicted state. The determining of the proposed cost is based on the at least one criterion. One or more of steps are implemented on the processor device.

  • Patent number: 9724610
Abstract: Useful work or services can be automated or otherwise facilitated or solutions to real world events developed by emulation of a real-world environment (which can contain objects representing virtual objects) with a virtual environment and generating a prioritized sequence of locations and associated tasks in accordance with resources related to the event in a virtual universe. Performance of the prioritized tasks at the prioritized locations is facilitated in the virtual universe by locally generating teleportation invitations corresponding to locations in the ordered sequence of locations.

  • Patent number: 9526994
Abstract: A user of a virtual universe system is provided with the option of deferring a response to an invitation for an avatar to be relocated (including relocation by performing a teleportation operation) by providing for selective storage of received invitations in a queue with a priority determined based on one or more rules which can preferably be developed by conversion from an invitation. Status of issuers of invitations can be monitored or the issuers polled and the current status can be displayed to a user to determine actions to be taken in manipulating priority in the queue. The user is also provided with the capability of editing priority of stored invitations including the ability to accept, reject or forward the invitation or convert the invitation to a landmark. Invitations having similarities may be grouped in accordance with any desired metadata contained in the invitation.

  • Patent number: 9264427
Abstract: The present invention is a method and system of transferring any telephone call designated to a first user to the cellular telephone of a second user. The system authenticates an end user's biometric information and then allows the end user to answer an incoming landline telephone call from any location using a cellular phone. Additionally, the reverse situation is true. An authenticated end user can answer an incoming cellular telephone call from any location using an available landline telephone.
