  • Patent number: 6260803
Abstract: A multi-tether kite control device uses a racheting mechanism to rewind the tether reels. The mechanism is activated by a pull-string attached to the belt or torso of the operator. By repetitively moving the device away from and toward his body, the operator can rewind one or both tethers without releasing his grasp upon the device handles. Separate reels are used to coil the tethers attached to the leading edges of the kite to provide a controlled braking action.

  • Patent number: 5231762
Abstract: A dog grooming attachment to a haircutting tool of the type that uses hair flow created by suction device to draw hair into a cutting chamber comprises a spacing element attachable to the inlet of the cutting chamber and a comb made of a plurality of parallel, L-shaped tines.

  • Patent number: 5197402
Abstract: A sailboard harness boom rope has a length of webbing at each extremity which is secured around the boom by a cinching buckle having arcuate side-members with radius commensurate with the outside radius of the boom and at least three cross-members. One end of the length of webbing forms a closed loop engaging a first of said cross-members, then wraps around the boom and is passed back-and-forth between the cross-members in a quickly releasable cinching arrangement.

  • Patent number: 5142786
Abstract: A precision hair clipper for cutting the hair of a subject to a uniform length comprises a housing defining a flow chamber attachable to a vacuum source. At the inlet of the housing a pair of reciprocating blades occupy one side of a quadrangular rim. The blades have rows of cooperating teeth facing the opening of the inlet. A bar commensurate with and parallel to the blade teeth is reciprocally translated across the opening between the teeth and the opposite edge of the rim. Hair drawn through the flow chamber is thus periodically pushed against the shearing teeth. The bar movement is coupled to the blade oscillating mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4970788
Abstract: A precision hair-clipping guide for cutting the hair of a subject to a uniform length at a selectable spacing from the subject's scalp. The guide attaches to the end of a vacuum cleaner hose and defines a flow-chamber having a slot through which the blades of clipping scissors may be manipulated while the hair is being drawn into the housing by vacuum.

  • Patent number: 4961524
Abstract: A device for facilitating the strapping of a load on a roof-mounted luggage rack which comprises a clamp attachable to one of the beams of the rack with a boom projecting in an upward slant toward an opposite side of the rack. The boom carries a strap which attaches at one end to the clamping mechanism of the boom and has the opposite end dangling past the end of the boom where it can be grabbed and tied to the rack, thus securing the load and at the same time securely clamping the device on the beam of the luggage rack.

  • Patent number: 4679322
Abstract: A precision hair clipper for cutting the hair of a subject to a uniform length which comprises a housing defining a flow chamber attachable to a vacuum hose. At the inlet of the housing a pair of reciprocating blades are configured to maintain a constant and equal flow of air through the chamber. Each of the blades is symmetrical to the other and features a row of parallel, sharp-edged slots. The row of slots of each blade is slanted in opposite direction to the row of the other blade so that their lateral oscillation results in a plurality of criss-crossing shearing edge action. The blades are driven by a pair of oppositely phased eccentric cams engaging openings in the blades. Selectable spacing of the clipper in relation to the subject's scalp is provided by a series of snap-on adjustable spacers.
