  • Patent number: 6536064
Abstract: A folding portable ramp is provided that includes a first platform section having a first end and a second end, and a second platform section having a first end and a second end. The first end of the second section is pivotally coupled to the second end of the first platform section, and the second section is adapted to be pivoted relative to the first section. A leg support assembly is coupled to at least one of the first and the second platform sections. The support assembly is adapted to be pivoted between a first position wherein the support assembly is oriented generally parallel to the first and the second sections and a second position wherein the support assembly extends outwardly away from the first or second section.

  • Patent number: 6427749
Abstract: A power-driven shutter door includes a curtain supported in a pair of tracks for bi-directional sliding movement open and closed positions, and a power drive assembly for driving movement of the curtain. The power drive assembly includes a pair of sprockets that engage shoes of the curtain, a motor for driving bi-directional rotation of the sprockets, and a control circuit including a switch movable between “open” and “close” positions for supplying power to the motor to move the shutter curtain between positions. A power-driven lock is also provided, and includes a rod supported on the curtain for movement between extended and retracted positions, a manually-operated actuator for shifting the rod between the extended and retracted positions, and a power-driven lock supported on one of the tracks and presenting a locking arm shiftable between an extended position in which the arm protrudes into the track and a relatively retracted position.

  • Patent number: 5815870
Abstract: A ramp, and a process for fabricating the ramp, wherein the ramp is reversible. First and second elongate side members which can be formed of an extruded magnesium alloy. A plurality of grates, each grate formed of die-cast aluminum, are positioned between the first and second side members to provide a load bearing platform. Tie rods are connected between the elongate side members by self-tapping screws, such that adjacent grates are separated and supported by an intermediate tie rod. Each grate has gripping nodules on upper and lower side surface thereof. One end of the ramp has a removable apron which is angularly oriented relative to the platform of the ramp for engaging with a generally flat surface, such as a dock or truck bed. The apron may be removed, the ramp turned over, and the apron re-positioned on the body of the ramp, thereby causing the upper and lower surfaces of the ramp to trade places.
