  • Patent number: 8800607
Abstract: A process and system for directly exporting liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from an offshore location is disclosed. The process comprises (a) obtaining a mixture comprising oil and natural gas from a subsea well; (b) separating LPG from the mixture comprising oil and natural gas at a floating or fixed offshore processing facility; (c) offloading the LPG directly from the floating or fixed offshore processing facility via subsea offloading risers and at least one subsea offloading flowline connecting the processing facility to a floating or fixed offshore transfer station; and (d) transferring the LPG to an export tanker at the transfer station. The system comprises a floating or fixed offshore processing facility, a floating or fixed offshore transfer station, and a set of subsea offloading transfer lines connecting the processing facility and the transfer station.

  • Publication number: 20030021728
Abstract: A method of and system for object-oriented real-time mechanical control of automated immunochemistry instruments. The mechanical control method and system has an object-oriented attribute which incorporates and implements one or more of the following characteristics: encapsulation of functionality, information hiding, abstraction, concept of nouns and/or verbs or properties and/or methods, inheritance, specialization, and generalization. The mechanical control method and system has a real-time attribute which satisfies the requirement that certain actions of one or more units of the automated immunochemistry instrument must occur at a specific time in order for the instrument to function correctly, wherein the control system responds to inputs and other stimuli and causes various units of the instrument to respond appropriately in a timely manner.

  • Patent number: 5009394
Abstract: A post extracting apparatus is disclosed in which a unitary bent plate of substantial thickness and strength having a "T" shaped aperture located in a plate portion adjacent the bend allows the plate to be slipped down over a T-shaped fence post to fit within about a foot or so of the buried base of the post. The bent plate implement is then rocked into a postgripping position and an upward force is applied to a protruding portion of the plate such as by means of a standard automobile jack. The T-shaped post is wedged by the plate device adjacent its aperture, thus making contact in as many as six (6), and at least four (4) locations on the post, depending on the size and uniformity of the fence posts, gripping the post so as to transfer the upward jacking force to the post causing its extraction.

  • Patent number: 4224949
Abstract: This invention is drawn to a bovine vaginal probe capable of measuring electrical resistance in a bovine vaginal tract with sufficient accuracy to allow detection of changes in electrical resistance indicative of estrus. The electrodes of the probe are generally axially aligned on the surface of a generally cylindrical support. In the essentially axially parallel electrode configuration, in order to obtain the desired sensitivity where one set of electrodes are employed, the electrodes should be separated from each other by at least 45.degree. and preferably at least about 90.degree.. One preferred essentially axially parallel configuration employs two sets of electrodes, each separated by approximately 90.degree. so that two sets of resistance figures, ventral and dorsal can be obtained.
