The E-marker integrated circuit provided in-line along a CC conductor between the USB-C port controller and the USB interface. The USB-C port controller is configured to enable the E-marker integrated circuit upon reception of a vendor defined message via the USB interface which enables a high power delivery mode between the battery and a device without the presence of a separate interconnecting E-marker cable there between.
