  • Publication number: 20120222413
Abstract: An exhaust treatment system includes an emissions treatment device for treating exhaust emitted from an internal combustion engine. The exhaust treatment system includes a frame adapted to support first and second spaced apart portions of the exhaust treatment system. The emissions treatment device interconnects the first and second portions and is in receipt of exhaust from the first portion and provides treated exhaust to the second portion. A first bracket is fixed to the frame and includes one of a protrusion and a receptacle. A second bracket is adapted to be fixed to the emissions treatment device and includes the other of the protrusion and the receptacle. The protrusion is positioned within the receptacle when the emissions treatment device is properly positioned. The protrusion interferes with one of the second bracket and the emissions treatment device to preclude assembly when the emissions treatment device is improperly positioned.

  • Patent number: 7787724
Abstract: Techniques for generating terahertz (THz) radiation are provided in which each nonlinear crystal in an array of such crystals is coupled to one or more corresponding waveguides such that any THz radiation generated in any single crystal is coupled into that crystal's THz waveguide structure. After the THz radiation is generated in the crystals and coupled into the waveguides, the individual THz signals may be coherently combined to form a single THz signal (non-coherent configurations are provided as well). Crystal-waveguide arrays embodying the techniques can be used to implement efficient, robust, and compact THz sources suitable for applications such as security screening, medical imaging, quality control and process monitoring in manufacturing operations, and package and container inspection.

  • Patent number: 7363258
Abstract: The invention provides a method and system for distributing affiliate images in a peer-to-peer (P2P) photosharing network comprising multiple peer nodes and a peer server, wherein each of the peer nodes execute a peer application that allows the peer nodes to communicate with each other and with the peer server over a network. Aspects of the present invention include customizing the peer application for the affiliate by branding the peer application with brand identifiers of the affiliate and by bundling low-resolution images of the affiliate with the customized peer application. Thereafter, the customized peer application is distributed directly to the fan base of the corresponding affiliate. During execution of the customized peer application, a user may place an order for merchandise imprinted with at least one of the low-resolution images.

  • Patent number: 6950969
Abstract: A fan controller is described herein that can be connected to other fan controllers to provide fault information from one controller to the other(s). The fan controllers each control one or more fans. The controllers include signal(s) connected between the controllers that transmit fault information from one fan controller to the other(s) without the involvement of the host processor. Further, the controllers are capable of performing a “free wheeling” test in which idle fans are spun and tested.

  • Publication number: 20030108078
Abstract: A laser pulse driving method comprises the steps of selecting a desired laser pulse energy level and a laser pulse width, and then determining a target flashlamp current level corresponding to the laser pulse energy level and the laser pulse width. Further, the method teaches generating a reference voltage corresponding to the target flashlamp current level at a first input of a comparator, closing a power switch to deliver an actual flashlamp current level to the flashlamp from a pulse capacitor, and then presenting a shunt voltage proportional to the actual flashlamp current level at a second input of the comparator. Further steps include, turning-on a comparator output when the shunt voltage is less than the reference voltage, receiving the comparator output at a first AND gate input, receiving a control signal at a second AND gate input for a time equal to the laser pulse width and then applying the AND gate output at a power switch driver when both the first and the second AND gate inputs are present.
