  • Publication number: 20240121397
Abstract: A method for determining one or more temporal sublayer properties from a bitstream is provided. The method includes determining, from the bitstream, a number N of temporal sublayers for which one or more temporal sublayer properties are specified. The method includes for each temporal sublayer of the N temporal sublayers having one or more temporal sublayer property values, decoding the one or more temporal sublayer property values from the bitstream wherein the one or more temporal sublayer property values includes one or more of: sublayer referencing information; output sublayer set information; picture width and picture height per temporal sublayer information; sublayer multiview information; sublayer auxiliary information; and/or sublayer quality information.

  • Patent number: 11956471
Abstract: A method for decoding a video bitstream comprising a sequence of pictures comprising a picture A and a picture B, wherein picture A starts a recovery point period and picture B ends the recovery point period. The method includes obtaining the video bitstream and decoding from the video bitstream a normative indication of the recovery point period. The normative indication of the recovery point period indicates that picture A starts the recovery point period and/or that picture B ends the recovery point period.

  • Publication number: 20240114149
Abstract: Methods to decode a picture from a bitstream are discussed. A partitioning structure of the picture is determined, wherein the partitioning structure defines at least first and second partitions of the picture. At least one dependency syntax element is decoded from the bitstream, and whether the second partition is dependent on or independent of the first partition is determined based on the at least one dependency syntax element. The picture is decoded from the bitstream based on determining whether the second partition of the picture is dependent on or independent of the first partition of the picture. Related methods of encoding and related devices are also discussed.

  • Publication number: 20220399724
Abstract: A module controller and a method for controlling operation of power producing modules in a power producing system are provided. The module controller comprises a processor and a memory, configured to store instructions, which when executed by the processor performs the method by causing the module controller to identify each power producing module connected to the module controller, retrieve a control logic for and associated with each of the identified power producing modules, determining the order in which the power producing modules are to be controlled by the module controller, allocate processor time to each power producing module and control the operation of each power producing module by executing, in the processor, the associated control logic.

  • Patent number: 8474512
Abstract: A cooler device for a motor vehicle includes a radiator liquid cooler with a first cooler element for cooling radiator liquid for the motor vehicle's combustion engine, a charge air cooler with a second cooler element for cooling of charge air for the combustion engine, the first and the second cooler elements extending substantially parallel and side by side, with a narrow space between the cooler elements. A screening device in the space between the cooler elements regulates the air flow through the elements. A control mechanism switches the screening device to and fro between an open position in which the screening device does not, or at least does not appreciably, limit the air flow through the cooler elements, and a closed position in which the screening device limits the air flow through the cooler elements.

Abstract: An arrangement for recirculation of exhaust gases of a supercharged combustion engine includes a return line for recirculating exhaust gases, an air-cooled EGR cooler and a bypass line having an extent such that it can lead recirculating exhaust gases past the EGR cooler. A valve is operable to be placed in a first position to lead the whole flow of recirculating exhaust gases through the EGR cooler during situations where there is no risk of ice formation in the EGR cooler, and in a second position to lead the whole flow of recirculating exhaust gases through the bypass line during situations where there is risk of ice formation in the EGR cooler.

  • Patent number: 8166758
Abstract: A cooling arrangement for a vehicle engine including at least one cooling element which has flowing through it a gaseous medium operable to being cooled by an external air flow which flows in a specified direction through the cooling element during operation of the combustion engine. A heat-supplying element is fitted at a location upstream from the cooling element with respect to the direction of the cooling air flow so that at least part of the air flowing through the heat-supplying element also flows through the cooling element. A control device is operable to activate the heat-supplying element so that the air flowing through the heat-supplying element is warmed during situations where there is risk of the gaseous medium in the cooling element being cooled to below a lowest acceptable temperature. The heat-supplying element and the cooling element have a connection so that they constitute a composite unit.

  • Patent number: 8025045
Abstract: A cooler device for a motor vehicle including a charge air cooler with a first cooler element, an EGR cooler with a second cooler element arranged substantially in plane with the first cooler element is disclosed. A screening device regulates air flow through the cooler elements. A control mechanism is operable to switch the screening device to and from between an open position and a closed position. A first screening portion allows more air to pass through than a second screening portion when the screening device is in the closed position such that air flow through the first cooler element is limited to a lesser extent than through the second cooler element in the closed position.

  • Publication number: 20080053090
Abstract: An arrangement for recirculation of exhaust gases of a supercharged combustion engine. The arrangement comprises an exhaust line operable to lead exhaust gases out from the combustion engine, an inlet line operable to lead air at above atmospheric pressure to the combustion engine, a return line which connects the exhaust line to the inlet line so that via the return line, it is possible to recirculate exhaust gases from the exhaust line to the inlet line. An EGR cooler in which the recirculating exhaust gases in the return line are cooled by a coolant before they are mixed with the air in the inlet line. The exhaust gases in the EGR cooler are cooled by a circulating coolant which is adapted to being at a temperature substantially corresponding to the temperature of the surroundings of the engine when the coolant is led into the EGR cooler.

  • Publication number: 20070251262
Abstract: An air cooler comprises at least one tubular element with an inside surface which defines a passage for air which is to be cooled in the air cooler. At least one heat-conducting element is fastened inside the passage and is shaped to divide the passage into a plurality of flow paths between the inlet and the outlet of the passage. A medium at a lower temperature than the air to be cooled in the air cooler flows in contact with an outside surface of the tubular element cooling the air in the air cooler as the air is led through the passage. The heat-conducting element is sized such that it occupies only part of the cross-section of the passage in the direction of flow of the medium, thereby forming in a remaining portion of the passage in the direction of flow of the medium an elongate duct between the inlet and the outlet of the passage.
