  • Publication number: 20200283318
Abstract: Processes and systems suitable for purifying or otherwise treating liquids to remove contaminants therein, including but not limited to purifying contaminated water to render the water suitable for human consumption, bathing, etc. Such a process and system entail the use of a purification system that heats a liquid from the feedstock to yield a more purified form of the liquid. The purification system can be operated to selectively process the feedstock through any of a series of vessels at which different amounts and/or contaminants may be removed from the feedstock.

  • Publication number: 20200239336
Abstract: Systems and processes for removing contaminants from water. Such a process includes flowing water into each of a plurality of vessels, wherein the water enters each of the vessels through at least one inlet port and exits each of the vessels through multiple outlet ports in a lower base wall of the vessel. The water then flows in fluidic parallel through a plurality of cartridges within each of the vessels. The water enters each of the cartridges through an upper inlet and is contained within the cartridge to exit through a lower outlet thereof that forms a watertight joint with one of the outlet ports of the vessel in which the cartridge is disposed. Each cartridge contains media formed of an ion exchange resin that removes the contaminants from the water.

  • Patent number: 10661195
Abstract: Processes and systems suitable for purifying or otherwise treating liquids to remove contaminants therein, including but not limited to contaminated water, to permit reclaiming, recycling, and reuse of the liquids. Such a process and system entails the use of a cascading distillation system that evaporates a liquid from the feedstock and then condenses and collects a more purified form of the liquid. The cascading distillation system can be operated to selectively process the feedstock through any of a series of vessels at which different amounts and/or contaminants may be removed from the feedstock.

  • Publication number: 20190063799
Abstract: Systems and processes capable of cooling gases, liquids, and solids without requiring the use of conventional refrigerants. Such a system or process for cooling a process fluid involves a passive cooling device that receives the process fluid from a reservoir and cools the process fluid by thermal conduction to a heat sink, an active cooling device that receives the process fluid from the passive cooling device and cools the process fluid with a coolant cooled by at least one thermoelectric device, and a housing that encloses the passive and active cooling devices and serves as the heat sink for the passive cooling device.

  • Patent number: 5078764
Abstract: An air purification apparatus has an inner housing with an air inlet and an air outlet. The inner housing is fabricated of sheet metal material which can be contoured for mounting interior components, such as a blower and a HEPA filter, directly to the inner housing itself, without requiring extraneous mounting brackets, mounting flanges and the like. An outer housing is secured substantially about the inner housing with portions thereof spaced from the inner housing and having an air inlet and an air outlet communicating respectively with the air inlet and the air outlet of the inner housing. In the preferred embodiment, the outer housing is fabricated of molded plastic material, with integrally molded vertical reinforcing ribs, and a recessed integral ring about the outlet for storing an electrical cord. Closures are provided for the inlet and the outlet of the outer housing to seal the housing when the apparatus is not in use.

  • Patent number: 4932988
Abstract: An air purification apparatus has an inner housing with an air inlet and an air outlet. Preferably the inner housing is fabricated as a one-piece molded plastic structure. A filter is mounted within the inner housing. A blower is mounted within the inner housing for drawing air in through the inlet, through the filter and out through the outlet. An outer housing is secured substantially about the inner housing with portions thereof spaced from the inner housing and having an air inlet and an air outlet communicating respectively with the air inlet and the air outlet of the inner housing. In the preferred embodiment, the outer housing is fabricated as a one-piece structure of molded plastic material, with integrally molded vertical reinforcing ribs, stackable detents on the top and the bottom of the housing, and a recessed integral ring about the outlet for storing an electrical cord. Closures are provided for the inlet and the outlet of the outer housing to seal the housing when the apparatus is not in use.

  • Patent number: 4717402
Abstract: An air purification system for use with an air conditioning apparatus which includes an air circulation system having supply air flow to a given area and return air flow for drawing air from that area. The air purification system includes an inlet and an outlet. A conduit communicates the inlet with the air circulation system for drawing therefrom a portion of the air passing therethrough. A conduit communicates the outlet with the air circulation system downstream of the inlet for returning the portion of the air back to the circulation system after it has passed through the air purification unit. A superheating conduit also communicates between the inlet and an exhaust of the air conditioning apparatus, such as the chimney of a furnace.
