A second layer of material includes a first surface, a second surface, and an intermediate spacer portion disposed therebetween. The second surface is adhered to at least a portion of the first main surface of the first layer of material. A mattress pad and a pillow having similar characteristics are also disclosed.

The skirt can be made of two layers of a textile material, each layer being a single panel, or it can be made of multiple panels or lengths of other materials for each layer.

A first elastic cord is secured with the inelastic panel at a periphery of the panel remote from the side skirt.

The inelastic underskirt can be made of the same material as that of the side skirt or, more typically, a single layer of an even less expensive material.
