  • Publication number: 20160025439
Abstract: A cover assembly for a trigger guard is described having a housing, a catch member connected to the housing, a release assembly mounted to the housing, and a biometric sensor assembly at least partially mounted to the housing. The housing has a base, a first sidewall and a second sidewall extending upwardly from the base to define a trigger guard receiving space. At least the first sidewall has an opening extending therethrough. The catch member is moveable between a locked position and an unlocked position. The release assembly is operable to cause the catch member to move from the locked position to the unlocked position. The biometric sensor assembly is configured to validate a biometric input and cause the release assembly to move the catch member from the locked position to the unlocked position based on validation of the biometric input.
