    Abstract: A hair-dye applicator for applying dye onto hair includes at least one retaining member, each retaining member having a leading edge. An insert is affixed adjacent an inner surface of each retaining member, the insert being flexible and resilient and including a plurality of slits, each slit beginning at a first end of the insert and extending into a body portion of the insert. The leading edge of each retaining member extends beyond the first end of the insert. The plurality of slits is unobstructed by the at least one retaining member, such that as a user's hair is combed with the applicator, the user's hair is caused to pass through the slits and dye that is carried on the insert is transferred to the user's hair without the insert touching the scalp.

    Abstract: Techniques for forming metal silicide contact pads on semiconductor devices are disclosed, and in one exemplary embodiment, a method may comprise depositing a metal layer on and between a plurality of raised silicon-based features formed on a semiconductor substrate, the metal layer comprising metal capable of reacting with external silicon-based portions of the features to form a metal silicide. In addition, such a method may also include depositing a cap layer on the metal layer deposited on and between the plurality of raised silicon-based features, wherein a thickness of the cap layer on the metal layer between the raised features is greater than or equal to a thickness of the cap layer on the metal layer on the raised features. Furthermore, such a method may also include annealing the structure to cause portions of the metal layer to react with portions of the external silicon-based portions of the features to form metal silicide pads on and between the raised features.

    Abstract: Software can be automatically distributed in stages. An administrator can specify a stage indicating software to be distributed to nodes in a network. The nodes can be organized into groups. Administration functions can be performed via an application service provider scenario. For example, a browser-based user interface can be used to configure nodes and indicate an appropriate software stage for the nodes. Agent software at a node can query a data center to discover what software is appropriate. Software of the proper stage can be provided and installed. The software can be provided via an application service provider scenario, and automatic installation can be achieved even if the nodes are behind a firewall. A versionless arrangement can be implemented.

The executable control is triggered upon each request for the active Web page and causes dynamic Web content to be generated therefrom. A Web portal including the active administration Web page is exported to a browser application independent of a specific operating environment. The executable control is interpreted to facilitate copying of the self-extracting configuration file to the target client.
