    Abstract: A cable connector assembly comprises two plugs, a collected plug and two cables extending from each plug to the collected plug. Each plug includes a first contact unit and a second contact unit, a joint connecting the first and the second contact units, and a jacket covering the first and the second contact units. Each cable has a first end extending through an aperture of a fixing portion of the jacket and into a position between the first and the second contact units of a corresponding plug and is fixed to the plug by the fixing portion of the jacket. The collected plug connects with second ends of the cables and also connects to a network. A method for manufacturing the cable connector assembly comprises the steps of: (A) preparing the first and the second contact units and cables; (B) a soldering step; (C) forming the joints; (D) forming the jackets; (E) forming the jacket of the collected plug.

During the intercepting cable step, a tubular cable is intercepted with a given length. During the connecting cable and contact step, a body is provided to receive the cable and contacts. During the molding cover step, a second mold assembly comprising a top mold and a bottom mold is provided. The second mold assembly includes a second molding chamber for receiving the body and a end portion of the cable therein, and an elliptical passageway in communication with the second molding chamber for extension of the cable therethrough. A rib is formed in the passageway for compensating deformation of the flexible plastic pipe.

    Abstract: A cable connector assembly comprises a connector subassembly including an electrical connector and a shell enclosing the connector, a cable terminated to the connector subassembly, and a strain relief device injection molded around the cable. The strain relief device includes a strain relief member and an integral interconnection member located in the connector subassembly for assembling the strain relief thereto. The strain relief member comprises a plurality of longitudinal portions arranged in two arrays for symmetrically flanking the cable, a plurality of parallel vertical portions interconnecting the longitudinal portions for sandwiching the cable therebetween, and a front portion connecting with the interconnection member. Each longitudinal portion has a substantially trapezoidal vertical cross section being tapered toward the cable. The height of the vertical cross section of each longitudinal portion proximate the retained cable is much smaller than the diameter of the cable in a vertical direction.
