  • Patent number: 10993240
Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods, devices, and systems for signaling of In-Device Coexistence (IDC) problems in uplink (UL) Carrier Aggregation (CA). Embodiments of a method in a User Equipment (UE) in communication with an Evolved Node B (eNB) are disclosed. In some embodiments, the method in the UE comprises sending an IDC indication to the eNB including information of problematic UL CA combinations. In this manner, the eNB is provided an indication from which the eNB can deduce which frequencies need to be avoided for UL CA.

  • Publication number: 20210112466
Abstract: A wireless communication device is configured for use in a wireless communication system. The device in this regard is configured to receive a command that commands the device to perform a link switch from a source link to a target link responsive to fulfillment of a condition. The command may indicate a target link configuration relative to a source link configuration. The device is also configured to store information from which the target link configuration indicated by the command is determinable irrespective of any change to the source link configuration occurring after receipt of the command. In some embodiments, the device is configured to, responsive to fulfillment of the condition, perform a link switch from the source link to the target link using the target link configuration as determined from the stored information.

  • Patent number: 10966263
Abstract: A UE operating in a RAN may be configured to receive new radio, NR, radio resource control, RRC, messages from a secondary network node. The NR RRC messages may each contain a number that the secondary network node added to the NR RRC messages to indicate their respective order in a sequence which the NR RRC messages were sent by the secondary network node. The NR RRC messages may each contain parameters that the UE uses to configure its communications through a NR interface with the secondary network node. The UE may send NR RRC complete messages toward the secondary network node responsive to receipt of the NR RRC messages, wherein the NR RRC complete messages each contain an indication of the NR RRC message that was received. The UE may control the sending of the NR RRC complete messages to indicate to the secondary network node whether the NR RRC messages are received in an order that is the same as the sequence.

  • Patent number: 10952110
Abstract: Embodiments herein disclose a method performed by a wireless device (10) for handling connections in a wireless communication network, wherein the wireless device (10) is configured with a split signaling radio bearer to a first radio network node (12), being a master radio network node, and a second radio network node (13), being a secondary radio network node. The wireless device detects a radio link problem to the first radio network node (12); and transmits a failure report to the first radio network node (12) over the split signaling radio bearer via the second radio network node (13). The failure report indicates the radio link problem to the first radio network node (12).

  • Publication number: 20210045180
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus for handling communications relating to suspending a user equipment in a radio access network (RAN) are disclosed. An example method includes receiving, by a user equipment that is operating in a connected state, a radio resource control (RRC) release message. The user equipment determines, based on an indication in the RRC release message, whether to suspend the user equipment to an inactive state or an idle state, the indication comprising a presence or absence a suspend configuration field in the RRC release message. Responsive to determining that the indication is to suspend to an inactive state, the user equipment transitions to the inactive state.

  • Publication number: 20210007022
Abstract: A User Equipment context is transferred from a source secondary network node to a target secondary network node. The UE is served by a master network node and the source secondary network node. The source secondary network node transmits, to the target secondary network node, a first message comprising a handover request, and receives a second message comprising configuration data of the target secondary network. After receiving the second message, the source secondary network node transmits, to the master network node, a third message comprising the configuration data of the target secondary network node.

  • Publication number: 20200413473
Abstract: A UE operating in a network that supports dual connectivity operation is configured to minimize the transmission of unnecessary UE failure indications. The UE detects secondary cell group (SCG) failure for the UE, in response to detecting one of a plurality of SCG failure-triggering events. The UE sends a UE failure indication message, in response to the detecting SCG failure, and refrains from sending further UE failure indication messages in response to SCG failure-triggering events, until the sending of further UE failure indication messages is reenabled. In some cases, the UE sets a state of the UE to a UE prohibit state to prohibit sending further UE failure indication messages while in the UE prohibit state. In other cases, the UE starts a prohibit timer to prohibit sending further UE failure indication messages during the prohibit timer.

  • Publication number: 20200358560
Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to a method implemented by a wireless communication device. The wireless communication device transmits data to a radio node of a wireless communication network. The wireless communication device monitors for a positive acknowledgement or a negative acknowledgement of the data from the radio node. The wireless communication device retransmits the data to the radio node when said monitoring indicates reception of a negative acknowledgement of the data. The wireless communication device refrains from retransmitting the data to the radio node when said monitoring indicates reception of a positive acknowledgement of the data. The wireless communication device also refrains from retransmitting the data to the radio node when said monitoring indicates neither reception of a positive acknowledgement of the data nor reception of a negative acknowledgement of the data.

  • Patent number: 10715286
Abstract: An inventive UE carrier aggregation (CA) capability reporting signalling model allows UEs (30) aggregating large numbers of component carriers to transmit CA-relevant capabilities to the network more efficiently than the current (legacy) signalling model. Rather than reporting CA/MIMO/CSI/NAICS capabilities separately for each supported band combination, including fallback configurations, embodiments of the present invention either report UE Radio Frequency (RF) and Baseband (BB) related capabilities separately, or report them disassociated from CA band configurations. This approach avoids the need to signal the full UE (30) set of capabilities for each of (possibly many) supported band combinations. Furthermore, fallback capabilities are signalled implicitly, eliminating the need to transmit this data.

  • Publication number: 20200187064
Abstract: According to certain embodiments, a method by a first network node operating as a secondary node for a wireless device having dual connectivity to the first network node and a second network node operating as a source master node is performed during a handover of the wireless device from the second network node operating as the master node to a third network node operating as a target master node. The method includes receiving, from the second network node operating as the source master node, an indication that the first network node is to release one or more resources for serving user plane data to the wireless device. In response to the indication, control plane data is transmitted to the wireless device while ceasing to provide user plane data to the wireless device.

  • Patent number: 10631270
Abstract: Method in a user equipment, a user equipment, a method in a base station and a base station for setting values of system parameters used within a wireless communication system. A first set of parameter values and an associated first tag is sent from the base station to be received and stored by the user equipment. Further, a second set of parameter values and an associated second tag is sent from the base station to be received and stored by the user equipment. When the base station determines to change system information parameters, a command tag is sent, to be received by the user equipment, which apply the set of parameter values associated with the tag corresponding to the received command tag.

  • Publication number: 20200120709
Abstract: A method performed by a wireless device (120) for transmitting a Random Access, RA, message to a radio network node (110). The wireless device and the radio network node operate in a wireless communications network (100). The wireless device determines a preamble from a group of preambles associated with an RA message size larger than the threshold value. This is done when the wireless device has a message to transmit that is larger than a threshold value. The wireless device transmits the determined preamble to the radio network node. Further, the wireless device receives, from the radio network node, an indication indicating that repetitions of transmission of an RA message are to be applied. Furthermore, the wireless device transmits, to the radio network node, the message in the RA message in accordance with the indication.
