The electronic device may include a sensor configured to detect the location of at least one viewer, a display configured to generate a 3D image and generate at least one 3D-visible area where a 3D image is able to be recognized and at least one 3D-invisible area where a 3D image is unable to be recognized, and a control unit configured to change a display state of a 3D image if the detected at least one viewer is placed in the 3D-invisible area. In accordance with the present invention, a viewer may smoothly view an image because the display state of a 3D image is changed if the viewer is placed in a 3D-invisible area.
