  • Publication number: 20220135937
Abstract: Provided is an electroporation device and a method for producing cells with an introduced foreign substance, with which, compared to a device that performs electroporation by causing a solution (droplet) containing a foreign substance and cells to reciprocate in oil, an operation to recover a sample after a reaction is simplified. An electroporation device (1) includes a holding portion (2), a discharge generating portion (3), a conductive portion (4), and a power amount control portion (5). The holding portion (2) is configured to hold a solution containing a foreign substance and a cell. The discharge generating portion (3) includes a pair of electrodes disposed at a predetermined gap, and configured to generate an arc discharge between the pair of electrodes.

  • Patent number: 10066199
Abstract: An exogenous substance transfer apparatus that introduces an exogenous substance into a small amount of cells by electrical action and a method for manufacturing exogenous substance-bearing cells at low cost are provided. In the introducing an exogenous substance like a gene into a cell, a cell suspension liquid that contains the cell and the exogenous substance is supplied to a container through an opening portion in an amount that is prepared such that a liquid droplet that is formed will not come into contact with a pair of electrodes simultaneously. The liquid droplet is formed in an oil stored in the container, without the cell suspension liquid mixing with the oil. When a direct current voltage is supplied to the electrodes from a power supply, the liquid droplet moves there-between, and the exogenous substance is introduced into the cell within the liquid droplet by electrical action.

  • Publication number: 20150368604
Abstract: An exogenous substance transfer apparatus that introduces an exogenous substance into a small amount of cells efficiently and at low cost by electrical action and a method for manufacturing an exogenous substance-bearing cell that is able to manufacture many kinds of exogenous substance-bearing cells at low cost are provided. In the introducing of an exogenous substance such as a gene or the like into a cell, a cell suspension liquid that contains the cell and the exogenous substance is supplied to a container (2) through an opening portion (17). The cell suspension liquid is supplied to the container (2) in an amount that is prepared such that a liquid droplet (W) that is formed will not come into contact with a pair of electrodes (5a, 5b) at the same time. The liquid droplet (W) is formed in an oil (6) that is stored in the container (2), without the cell suspension liquid mixing with the oil (6). The liquid droplet (W) is disposed between the electrodes (5a, 5b).
