  • Patent number: 11758410
Abstract: A wireless communication system for a ground based vehicle, such as a train, is disclosed. In an embodiment, the system includes a router connected to a plurality of antennas. The router is configured to transmit and receive a wireless data communication to and from a stationary communication server outside the ground based vehicle through at least one base station of an exterior mobile network via the plurality of antennas. The plurality of antennas are directional antennas arranged on planes of the vehicle functioning as ground planes, isolating planes, or absorbing planes. Each plane extends in a height direction or a length direction of the ground based vehicle. At least one antenna's beam covers a laterally directed sector to a first side of the vehicle, and at least one antenna's beam covers a laterally directed sector to a second side of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20230199544
Abstract: A method and system for wireless communication between a router in a moving vehicle, such as a train, and a stationary communication server outside the moving vehicle through at least one external mobile network on at least one link are disclosed. The method comprises: providing a first output buffer and a second output buffer, and determining whether said data stream is of a data type belonging to a set of prioritized data types. In case the data stream is of a data type belonging to the set of prioritized data types, the first output buffer is selected, and in case the data is of a data type not belonging to the set of prioritized data types, the second output buffer is selected.

  • Publication number: 20220200693
Abstract: A wireless satellite communication system for an aircraft comprises at least one router in the aircraft for communication with at least one terrestrial remote server through at least one external network comprising a plurality of low earth orbit, LEO, satellites. The router is arranged to establish connection with the remote server via the LEO satellites over at least two separate communication links, and the at least one terrestrial remote server at least comprises an aggregation server. The router is configured for receiving and transmitting wireless data to and from the aggregation server, using aggregated communication over the at least two separate communication links, the communication thereby at the end points appearing as a single link.
