  • Patent number: 7545774
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling the function of a mobile station in a packet switched communication network based on a cellular network, which communication network is arranged to transfer information between a base station and at least one wireless communication device by means of a radio channel, wherein to transfer information, a transmission power on a set level is used on the radio channel. Information divided into successive blocks (10, B0-B11) is transmitted from the base station to the mobile station on the radio channel. In the method, the block also contains information (PR) relating to the power level of the transmission. In the method, a block (10, B0-B11) that is transmitted repeatedly and at fixed intervals is transmitted with a fixed transmission power to establish a reference level.

  • Patent number: 7194282
Abstract: A method for power control of a wireless communication device (2) comprises the steps of defining the transmission power of at least one transmitter (12) of the wireless communication device (2), defining a power index (POWt) on the basis of the transmission power of the transmitter (12), and selecting at least one limit value. The power index (POWt) is compared with the limit value and, on the basis of the comparison, it is deduced whether there is a need to adjust the transmission power of the wireless communication device (2). The transmission power may then be adjusted accordingly. A related wireless communication device and a system shown.

  • Patent number: 6697604
Abstract: A method for testing the function of a mobile station includes starting the generation and transmission of uplink data to a testing apparatus in response to a downlink message of a certain protocol layer received from the testing apparatus. The transmission is controlled by a test procedure determined for the protocol layer in the mobile station, where the test procedure is activated by the message. The mobile station is intended to operate in a packet switched communication network based on a cellular network where the mobile station includes means for receiving downlink data from the testing apparatus, means for transmitting uplink data to the testing apparatus, and protocol means for generating and processing data.

  • Patent number: 6209050
Abstract: The invention relates to an expansion (1) arranged to operate in at least a first function mode. The expansion card comprises at least means (4, 6) for setting the function mode and means (2b, 13, 14) for connecting the expansion card to the expansion card connector (2a) of the electronic device. The expansion card (1) comprises further means (4) for generating a signal on turning on of the expansion card (1) and means (2b, 8, 11, 13) for transmitting the signal to an electronic device (3). The expansion card is also provided with means (4) for forming a message about setting the first function mode and means (2b, 8, 11, 13) for transmitting the message to the electronic device.
