    Abstract: A graphics device is provided that includes a mechanism to receive a plurality of data requests in a particular order, a multipurpose buffer mechanism to simultaneously monitor a status of the plurality of data requests, and a mechanism to output responses to the plurality of data requests in the particular order. The multipurpose buffer mechanism may include an age counter section and a buffer control section. The age counter section may include a plurality of shift registers each corresponding to a different operation regarding the plurality of data requests.
