  • Patent number: 4162264
Abstract: The process according to the present invention comprises reacting diphenylchlorophosphine with ethylene oxide in a medium of an inert organic solvent. The resulting reaction mixture is heated in the presence of an alkyl ester of a haloacetic acid until the formation of an alkyl ester of diphenylphosphinylacetic acid. The latter, without separation and any additional purification, is reacted with hydrazine hydrate. The advantage of the process according to the present invention resides in a simplified technology, preparation of the desired product in a single stage at a high yield and the use of readily available commercially produced reagents.
