Patent number: 10419744Abstract: Techniques are directed to user profiles for viewing devices. A user profile storing one or more defined parameters may be received. The one or more defined parameters may represent viewing information. Descriptive information about the media information to be viewed on the viewing device may be received. One or more settings in a viewing device may be adjusted based on the one or more defined parameters in the user profile and the descriptive information. Other embodiments are described and claimed.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2012Date of Patent: September 17, 2019Assignee: INTEL CORPORATIONInventors: Rina Doherty, Audrey Younkin, Philip Corriveau

Patent number: 9807362Abstract: A system configured to display autostereoscopic video (AV) may determine a depth setting for displaying the AV based on at least one of user parameters or device parameters, and may proceed to display the AV on a display based on the depth setting. In one embodiment the system may try to obtain user parameters before relying on device parameters. User parameters may be available from user profiles. For example, facial recognition may be used to determine if a user profile exists for a user. If a user profile is determined not to exist for the user, then the system may sense a distance from the display to the viewer, and may proceed to determine the depth setting based on the distance and device characteristics. Device characteristics may identify the manufacturer/model of the system, the type/size of display on which the AV will be viewed, the abilities of the system, etc.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2012Date of Patent: October 31, 2017Assignee: INTEL CORPORATIONInventors: Philip J. Corriveau, Rina A. Doherty, Audrey C. Younkin

Patent number: 9483111Abstract: Techniques to improve viewing comfort for three-dimensional (3D) content are described. In one embodiment, for example, an apparatus may comprise a processor circuit and a 3D graphics management module, and the 3D graphics management module may be operable by the processor circuit to generate first 3D graphics information corresponding to a 3D warm-up sequence for presentation by a 3D display, transmit the first 3D graphics information, and transmit second 3D graphics information corresponding to 3D content for presentation by the 3D display. Other embodiments are described and claimed.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2013Date of Patent: November 1, 2016Assignee: INTEL CORPORATIONInventors: Audrey C. Younkin, Philip J. Corriveau, Rina A. Patent number: 8977972Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are generally directed to systems, methods, and machine-readable mediums for implementing gesture-based signature authentication. In one embodiment, a system may include several modal input devices. Each modal input device is capable of retrieving a stream of modal input data from a user. The system also includes modal interpretation logic that can interpret each of the retrieved modal input data streams into a corresponding of set of actions. The system additionally includes modal pairing logic to assign each corresponding set of actions to control one of the displayed objects. Furthermore, the system has modal control logic which causes each displayed object to be controlled by its assigned set of actions.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 2009Date of Patent: March 10, 2015Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: Glen J. Anderson, Rina A. Doherty
