  • Publication number: 20060228419
Abstract: The invention provides a solvent-free process for the preparation of a hydrophilic dispersion comprising nanoparticles of an hydrophilic inclusion complex consisting essentially of nanosized particles of an active compound and an amphiphilic polymer which wraps said active compound such that non-valent bonds are formed between said compound and said polymer in said inclusion complex, comprising: (i) preparation of an aqueous solution of the amphiphilic polymer; and (ii) bringing the active compound and the polymer aqueous solution into interaction under conditions suitable for the formation of said hydrophilic dispersion. The process can be applied to small organic compounds as well as to macromolecules, and provides stable hydrophilic dispersions.

  • Patent number: 7081450
Abstract: This invention provides a soluble nano-sized particles formed of a core (water-insoluble lipophilic compound or hydrophilic compound) and an amphiphilic polymer and which demonstrated improved solubility and/or stability. The lipophilic compound within the soluble nano-sized soluble (“solu-nanoparticles”) may consist of pharmaceutical compounds, food additives, cosmetics, agricultural products and veterinary products. The invention also provides novel methods for preparing the nano-sized soluble particles, as well as a novel chemical reactor for manufacturing an inclusion complex comprising the nano-sized soluble particles.

  • Publication number: 20050249786
Abstract: The present invention provides a hydrophilic inclusion complex consisting essentially of nanosized particles of an active compound in amorphous form and an amphiphilic polymer which wraps the active compound such that non-valent bonds are formed between the active compound and the amphiphilic polymer. The invention further provides hydrophilic dispersions comprising said inclusion complexes, particularly of pharmaceutical drugs, and stable pharmaceutical compositions comprising said dispersions of the pharmaceutical drugs in amorphous form.

  • Publication number: 20050233003
Abstract: The invention provides a hydrophilic inclusion complex consisting essentially of nanosized particles of salicylic acid wrapped in an amphiphilic polymer, wherein said amphiphilic polymer is selected from the group consisting of polyacrylic acid, polyacrylamide and copolymers thereof, polymethacrylamide and copolymers thereof, and polylysine, and said amphiphilic polymer is modified by reaction with urea or a derivative thereof, nicotinamide or guanidine. Further provided are hydrophilic dispersions comprising nanoparticles of said inclusion complexes and pharmaceutical and cosmetic compositions comprising said dispersions.

  • Publication number: 20050227911
Abstract: The present invention provides hydrophilic dispersions comprising nanoparticles of inclusion complexes consisting essentially of nanosized particles of a macromolecule wrapped in an amphiphilic polymer such that non-valent bonds are formed between the macromolecule and the amphiphilic polymer. The macromolecules may be a naturally-occurring, synthetic or recombinant polypeptide, protein, polysaccharide or polynucleotide, and the amphiphilic polymer is a polysaccharide or a modified polysaccharide such as starch, chitosan or an alginate.

  • Publication number: 20050226934
Abstract: The present invention provides a hydrophilic inclusion complex consisting essentially of nanosized particles of a non-crystalline active compound wrapped by an amphiphilic polymer consisting of a homopolymer of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid or a copolymer of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid, or both, with one or more comonomers. The invention further provides hydrophilic dispersions comprising nanoparticles of said inclusion complexes and stable compositions comprising them.
