  • Patent number: 8057877
Abstract: A flexible hose for transporting food liquids, particularly for irrigation or the like, comprising at least one outer protective layer (2) of a first flexible polymer material and at least one inner layer (3) in direct contact with the fluid to be transported, made of a second flexible polyvinyl chloride (PVC)-containing polymer material. The second polymer material includes a plasticizer agent having as low a migration level as to maintain the flexibility of said second polymer material substantially unaltered with time. The plasticizer agent is selected from the group comprising non-phthalate additives, so that it can be non-toxic and non-polluting for the food products to be transported.

  • Publication number: 20100052317
Abstract: A hose and fitting assembly comprising a hose of a first thermoplastic polymer material having an end portion (9) with an inner surface (8) and an outer surface (15) and a fitting (3) of a second polymer material for connection with an external point of use. The fitting (3) has a central tubular projection (4) with an axial fluid passageway (6). The central tubular projection (4) has an inner wall (5) which defines the fluid passageway (6) and an outer wall (7), at least partly integrally coupled to the inner surface (8) of the end portion (9) of the hose (2). The hose and fitting assembly comprises reinforcement means (11) of a third polymer material at the periphery of the end portion (9) of the hose (2) for restraining radial deformations of the hose and providing the assembly with a good mechanical and/or hydraulic sealing capability. A method of making such assembly.

  • Publication number: 20090205736
Abstract: A flexible hose, particularly for transporting food liquids, comprising at least one outer protective layer (2) of a first flexible polymer material (A) and at least one inner layer (3) of a second flexible polymer material (B). The second polymer material (B) comprises a thermoplastic compound (C1) of polyolefin nature and an elastomer compound (C2) in such a weight percentage as to impart a Shore A hardness of less than 85. Also, the second polymer material (B) is selected from polymer materials substantially free of liquid plasticizer agents.

  • Patent number: 7108018
Abstract: A reinforced flexible hose comprising as least a first inner extruded tubular layer and at least a second extruded tubular layer with a tubular reinforcement fabric provided between said first and second hoses. The two tubes are joined so as to form a homogeneous unit by their mutual contact surfaces, by gluing or molecular adhesion, for example. The end portion of the hose increases in width so much as to make it possible to achieve a better mechanical hold with the standard junctions to which it is bound to be fixed. The thickness increases at the end portions may either be constant along its whole length, or start gradually toward the end.

  • Patent number: 6199594
Abstract: A reinforced flexible hose includes at least one inner tubular layer (2) of plastic or rubber, a knitted reinforcement (3), which has substantially , parallel rows (4) and lines (5) of substantially parallel stitches, with respective stitch counts per unit length of the hose (Nm, Nr); and an outer layer (6) which is superimposed on the reinforcement layer (3) to protect it. The knitted reinforcement layer (3) is provided in the form of a single tubular layer and is wrapped around the outer surface of the inner tubular layer (2); the rows (4) and lines (5) of stitches are substantially helical, with respective longitudinal pitches (Pm, Pr) and inclinations which are mutually opposite with respect to the longitudinal axis (Y).

  • Patent number: 5477888
Abstract: The invention discloses a hose (10) which comprises at least one tubular layer (3) of plastic or rubber material, a mesh-network (4) of the chain type presenting mesh lines (5) and mesh rows (6) having a tubular shape being wound on the external surface of said inner layer, a possible external layer (7), and is characterized in that said mesh rows are slanted in relation to the longitudinal axis of the hose. According to a preferred embodiment the lines (5) of said meshes are slanted in relation to the longitudinal axis Y of the hose, following a direction opposite to the direction of the mesh rows (6).
