  • Publication number: 20200156337
Abstract: The present invention relates to a temperature sensor for measuring a temperature of a rubber, comprising: a protecting pipe; an element pipe extending coaxially with the protecting pipe, other than a tip portion of the element pipe being covered with the protecting pipe and the tip portion being exposed; and a temperature-measuring resistor element held in the element pipe to measure the rubber temperature. It is preferred that a ratio of a diameter (D2) of the protecting pipe to a diameter (D1) of the element pipe (D2/D1 ratio) is from 1.5 to 3.0. It is preferred that the protecting pipe and the element pipe comprise an air layer therebetween.

  • Patent number: 6269857
Abstract: A run-flat tire, i.e., a tire capable of running for a while even when it is flat or uninflated due to a puncture, includes a carcass ply or layer having a turned-up end which reaches one end of a belt layer underlying the tire tread. A crescent-shaped side-reinforcing rubber pad includes a outer-surface-side rubber pad and an inner-surface-side rubber pad arranged which sandwich a fibrous layer therebetween. The inner-surface-side pad, i.e., the one situated inward of the outer-surface-side pad, is thicker than the outer-surface-side pad. The upper end (the end close to the tread) and the lower end (the end close to a bead portion) of the fibrous layer extend slightly beyond the upper and lower ends of the side-reinforcing rubber pad, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4942197
Abstract: Rubber compositions for tire treads well balanced in the performances of rolling registance, sliding coefficient of friction on wet road surfaces and wear resistance and which are superior in the processability and workability, including at least 20 parts by weight of styrene-butadiene random copolymer prepared by using an organic lithium as a polymerization catalyst and coupled with a mono- or difunctional tin compound as well as a tri- or more functional compound and having a tin content of 300 ppm or more which is bonded to the polymer and further include a carbon black having the value of N.sub.2 SA/IA of 1.1 or more.

  • Patent number: 4840988
Abstract: This invention is a rubber composition for a tire tread of 100 parts by weight (pbw) diene system rubber to which are added x pbw of carbon black and y pbw of softening agent. The softening agent contains z pbw of liquid polymer. The amounts of x, y and z are described by the inequalities (5/8)x-20.ltoreq.y.ltoreq.x and (y/5)+5.ltoreq.z. The liquid polymer has a flow points of 20.degree. C. or below. The rubber composition provided here gives a tire tread with improved performance in terms of grade climbing ability, braking and standing start, on ice as well as on snow. Besides, the service life of the rubber is prolonged, and tread performance deterioration is reduced to a minimum.
