  • Patent number: 7108036
Abstract: The device includes a special tool for extracting an upper bead of a tire; the tool is of such a shape and is activated in such a way as to automate the tire dismounting operation reliably and safely. The device comprises other tools, used in the lower bead extraction operation and in the mounting of a tire, which tools are operated using compressed-air actuators which operate tool-bearing arms according to preset trajectories and runs.

  • Patent number: 6848158
Abstract: The device comprises a base for positioning a tire and a lever pivoted on a support and able to move and be fixed in position along a plane which is radial with respect to the center of the base. An active end of the lever, located on an L-shaped bend at an end of the lever, can be introduced internally of the opening to interact contactingly with the internal surface of a part of the support ring pre-inserted in the opening. By acting on the lever, the active end presses the ring against the inside of the tire with radial force. The support ring is of a type which when applied on a vehicle wheel enables the vehicle to continue moving for a considerable time even where tire pressure is suddenly lost.

  • Publication number: 20020185235
Abstract: An extractor tool (1) for extracting tire beads includes an extractor head (2) having a handle (3) on one end and a bent extension (4) formed on the other end. The bend extension (4) has a predetermined inclination relative to the longitudinal axis of the main body of the extractor head (4) and forms an upper surface to be in contact with the bead of a tire. A concave surface (5) and a lower surface are formed between the extractor head (2) and the bent extension (4). The lower surface is in contact with the edge (13) of a tire rim (12) during operation. A first short section (6) bounds the bent extension (4) from underneath and connects to a second extensive section (7) by means of a joint (8). The second extensive section (7) has a radius of curvature perceptibly less than the radius of curvature of the concave surface (5).

  • Publication number: 20020144790
Abstract: A lever for lifting a tire bead, having a shaped tire-lifting end for interacting with an appendix provided on a tire removing and fitting tool positioned close to a rim of a wheel hub on which a tire is to be removed, wherein a remaining part of the lever, destined to be gripped by an operator, exhibits an inclined geometrical axis having a predetermined inclination with respect to a work plane being a plane in which the shaped tire-lifting end of the lever rests upon the appendix of the tire removing and fitting tool.

  • Patent number: 6192959
Abstract: The machine for dismounting and fitting tires comprises a chuck which is rotatable about a rotation axis, on which a motor vehicle wheel can be fitted. Two arms are mounted either side of the chuck, the arms being hinged about two pivots superiorly bearing two tools able, by effect of rotations of the arms in both directions about the pivots, to move along at least one transversal plane to a wheel mounted on a chuck. Each tool is destined to operate contactingly with a bead of the tire. The arms are connected one to another by a length-adjustable con rod, hinged to the arms.

  • Patent number: 6065522
Abstract: A tire changing machine having a self-centering platform with a vertical axis is provided with a safety device for releasably locking on the platform a wheel with a tire. The device is particularly useful during tire-inflating operations to prevent an operator from suffering injury due to an explosion of the tire. The device comprises a stem which is vertically slidable with respect to a horizontal arm, the stem inferiorly bearing a plate interacting contactingly with the wheel placed on the platform. A retaining organ exhibits a hole in which a vertical rod which is solidly constrained to the arm is inserted with a predetermined degree of play. The retaining organ is hinged to the stem in such a way as to be able to assume at least one locked position in which it prevents the stem from rising.

  • Patent number: 5645101
Abstract: The device for inflating pneumatic tires comprises an inlet of pressurized air and an outlet for sending the air into a pneumatic tire. A first circuit of the device is divided into an initial tract and a final tract, which connects the inlet with the outlet, passing through a first on-off valve provided with a membrane. A second circuit of the device connects the inlet with a first chamber of the first on-off valve. The first chamber is also connected to a pressure regulator connected at outlet to a second on-off valve, which intercepts the air flow. A third circuit connects the outlet to a first chamber of the second on-off valve.
