  • Publication number: 20120024978
Abstract: A fountain system having at least one fountain head and an apparatus for propelling floating ornaments on the water surface of a body of water. The fountain system includes a submersible water pump having a means for securing the unit below the water surface level. Connected to the output of the submersible water pump is a three-way connector for diverting a portion of the output water flow to a fountain head with the remaining portion directed to an elongated L-shaped assembly for producing a circulating water current configured to propel floating ornaments located on the water surface. A variation of the present invention includes the means for adjusting circulating water current direction and/or distance from water surface so that floating ornament motion characteristics are adjustable.

  • Patent number: 7947614
Abstract: Disclosed is a multi-layered metal panel with a fire retardant inner core disposed between two wire mesh layers. The fire retardant inner core is a substrate coated with a fire retardant material. The wire mesh layers on top and bottom of the inner core affix the fire retardant inner core in between. A wire frame surrounds the peripheral edge of the wire mesh layers to provide structural rigidity to the panel. A protective sheet surrounds the entire panel to protect it from rain and wind.

  • Publication number: 20100243280
Abstract: A method of controlling fire by using a composition that fuses glass in situ when exposed to flames. A fire retardant and extinguishing composition that fuses a glass layer when exposed to flames. The glass layer envelops a combustible material to delay or inhibit combustion of the combustible material, or to extinguish flames. The composition comprises an aqueous suspension of glass powder. The glass is preferably formed from oxides of silicon, aluminum, boron and combinations thereof.

  • Patent number: 4910637
Abstract: A corona discharge device having a modified barrier which improves the discharge properties, is described. The device includes a metal electrode, a low field conductive plane and an ac or dc voltage source for applying a potential to the electrode. The barrier is positioned between the electrode and the plane and, in various embodiments, is in contact with either the electrode or the plane or neither one. The barrier is comprised of any of several materials including a doped glass or ceramic, a porous glass or ceramic, a dispersion of metal with glass or ceramic, a semiconductor, a photoconductor or a fibrous material which functions as a catalyst substrate.
