The configuration process includes configuring, when switching information is not stored in the second area of the consumable memory, an operational setting of the image-forming device using basic information stored in the first area of the consumable memory. The switching information is for switching reference information to be used for configuring the operational setting. The basic information is information related to the operational setting. The configuration process includes configuring, when the switching information is stored in the second area of the consumable memory, the operational setting using the reference information based on the switching information.
