  • Patent number: 9002180
Abstract: A particular method includes displaying a user interface for a media recorder in response to first user input. The method includes receiving a command to display recording space for the media recorder via the user interface. The method also includes sending a representation of the recording space to a display device. The representation includes a first indicator of available recording space, a second indicator of recording space used to store first media content that is deletable without additional user input when one or more conditions are met, and a third indicator of recording space used to store second media content, where an item of the second media content can only be deleted by the media recorder when the media recorder receives a user command to delete the item.

  • Patent number: 7929668
Abstract: A network administration system includes an Internet-based repair (eRepair) subsystem that is configured to accept customer trouble reports related to a network and to provide customer trouble report status information to customers. The administration system also includes a Work Force and Administration-Control (WFA/C) subsystem that is configured to manage repair services that are performed on the network in response to the customer trouble reports. A repair status update system, method and/or computer program product is configured to automatically send a status change message from the WFA/C subsystem to the eRepair subsystem upon occurrence of a change in a status of a customer trouble report in the WFA/C subsystem as a result of repair services that are performed on the network. The customer trouble report status information is updated in response to receipt of the status change message.

  • Patent number: 7742576
Abstract: Processes and systems are disclosed for creating and for managing trouble tickets and work orders. One embodiment includes communicating with a communications network and receiving a request to create a trouble ticket. The trouble ticket is created to investigate a problem with a communications system. The trouble ticket is assigned a work item number, with the work item number including a telephone number experiencing the problem with the communications system. The trouble ticket is tracked, from initial creating to final closure, using the assigned work item number.

  • Patent number: 7647391
Abstract: Processes and systems are disclosed for creating and for managing trouble tickets and work orders. One embodiment includes communicating with a communications network and receiving a request to create a work order. The work order is initiated and identified with a work order number. The work order number includes a telephone number experiencing the problem. The work order is then distributed to clients, and the work order is identified and tracked using a customer's telephone number. A trouble ticket is similarly managed, with the trouble ticket describing a problem in a communications system. Here the trouble ticket is initiated and the work item number is assigned. The trouble ticket is then distributed to clients, and the trouble ticket is identified and tracked using a customer's telephone number.

  • Patent number: 7624033
Abstract: Processes and systems are disclosed for managing status changes to a work order. One embodiment includes communicating with a communications network and receiving a change in status to the work order. The change in status is annotated with a date and a time, with the date and the time reflecting the local time zone of a telephone system wire center where the work order is locally managed. This embodiment validates that the annotated date and the time are chronologically after a previous change in status to the work order. The status of the work order is then updated. Each change in the status of the work order is date and time stamped as the work order progresses from creation to closure.

  • Patent number: 7340037
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for correlating work orders. One embodiment includes communicating with a communications network and acquiring new work order information representing a new work order. The new work order information is searched for at least one correlation parameter. A database of existing work orders is also searched for the at least one correlation parameter. The new work order information is grouped with existing work order information that shares the at least one correlation parameter and that has a date and time stamp within a predetermined interval of a date and time stamp of the new work order. The process, therefore, correlates the new work order with an existing work order having the at least one correlation parameter and a similar date and time stamp.

  • Patent number: 7308094
Abstract: Processes and systems are disclosed for screening a work order to diagnose and to isolate trouble in a telephone system. One embodiment includes communicating with a communications network and acquiring work order information, the work order information representing the work order. The work order information may be annotated with at least one of a date, a time, and an origin of the work order. The work order information is filtered for a screening criteria, with the screening criteria having a corresponding action. The work order information is updated according to the corresponding action, with the corresponding action updating at least one of a telephone system status code, a telephone system route code, and a narrative portion describing the telephone system. The process screens the work order for known indications of trouble in the telephone system.

  • Patent number: 7130399
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for assembling a line record for a customer's telephone number. One embodiment communicates with a communications network and acquires, in real time, at least one of i) information associated with the customer's service, ii) facility information associated with the customer's service, and iii) information associated with equipment used by the customer. The acquired information is assembled as the line record. An alternative embodiment communicates a request, over a communications network, for the line record. This alternative embodiment acquires, in real time, at least one of customer information from a Customer Record Information System, facility information from a Loop Facility Assignment Control System, and equipment information from a switch system. The acquired information is assembled as the line record, wherein each request for the line record is comprised of fresh data.

  • Patent number: 6917669
Abstract: Processes and systems are disclosed for managing a request for a test of a communication system. One embodiment communicates with a communications network and acquires the request. The request may be annotated with at least one of a date, a time, and an origin of the request. The embodiment formats the request with testability data desired by a test system conducting the test of the communication system. The formatted request is submitted to the test system, and then the results of the test are acquired.
