  • Publication number: 20210338539
Abstract: A personal care composition comprising i) 0.1 wt. % to 10 wt. % of a terpolymer of vinyl pyrrolidone/acrylic acid/lauryl methacrylate having a relative viscosity of at least 3.3 cps; and at least one lamellar gel. Other embodiments of this application disclose specific sunscreen compositions, methods for providing enhanced care and sensory benefits to skin of humans or animals and applying such a composition to the skin.

  • Patent number: 10729625
Abstract: Compositions comprising sun-care actives and self adapting polymers are disclosed. Self adapting polymers align themselves with the hydrophilic group pointing to the surface during application thus delivering an aesthetically pleasing surface to the consumers with a pleasant after feel. These polymers then rearrange upon contact with water so that the hydrophobic groups now point to the surface which then increases the water resistance of the formulation.

Date of Patent: August 4, 2020
    Assignee: ISP Investments LLC

  • Publication number: 20170165187
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention there is provided an oil-in-water emulsion sunscreen composition comprising (a) a UV active, (b) a first emulsifier having an HLB value less than 5 and (c) optionally a second emulsifier having an HLB value greater than 5 present in an amount of less than 0.2% w/w of the composition. The oil-in-water sunscreen composition is characterized by the absence of an emulsifiable polymer and is capable of providing little to no whitening when applied to wet skin.

  • Publication number: 20120294818
Abstract: Compositions containing a relatively high concentration of electrolytes and a thickening agent, wherein the thickening agent comprises a strongly swellable, lightly to moderately crosslinked polyvinyl pyrrolidone. The polyvinyl pyrrolidone thickening agent is characterized by an aqueous gel volume of about 15 to 150 ml/g and a Brookfield viscosity of at least 10,000 cps for a 5% aqueous solution at 25° C.

  • Publication number: 20070243154
Abstract: A topical composition containing from 0.5% to 15% by weight of at least one acid having a solubility, in water, at room temperature, of less than 0.002 g/ml, and from 10% to 99% by weight of at least one organic compound, liquid at room temperature, having at least one fatty group with a carbon chain length of from 12 to 24 carbon atoms, all weights being based on the weight of the composition.
