Each content type, of the plurality of permitted content types, may identify a type of content that is permitted to be included in the multimedia content message. The system may obtain the content type preferences to determine the plurality of permitted content types. The system may determine one or more selected content types of the plurality of permitted content types. The one or more selected content types may be content types of content to be obtained by the system and included in the multimedia content message. The system may obtain content of the one or more selected content types. The system may provide the multimedia content message including the content.

Abstract: An exemplary system and method enables direct transfers of content between devices to be evaluated by service providers in support of marketing services and the like to those devices (and their users). The system and method utilizes cards and records during the direct transfers to capture user activity information and then provides those cards and records to the service providers. Thus, even though the direct transfer is off-network or outside of the service provider system, the use of cards and records by the system and method provides the user activity information to the service provider for enhancing marketing services.

The settings may correspond to interactions, by a user, with the one or more second devices over a period of time. The one or more second devices be may non-mobile devices associated with one or more facilities. The first device may determine information identifying one or more conditions, associated with environmental conditions or conditions associated with the user's mood or physical state, under which the settings are applied to the one or more second devices; store information that correlates the settings of the one or more second devices with the one or more conditions; determine that at least one of the one or more conditions is met; and apply the settings to the one or more second devices.

Abstract: A method and system for providing hand-written command processing includes a network-connected application server receiving from a user device data storing hand-written information. The hand-written information is processed to identify one or more hand-written characters included in the data. A determination is made as to whether the identified characters include a command for initiating an action across the communication network. Upon determining that the characters include a command, the application server automatically performs the action identified by the command across the communication network. The action can include generating and sending a messaging service message or an e-mail, creating a scheduled reminder, creating and storing a checklist or note, or retrieving a previously stored checklist or note, based on information included in the hand-written characters. The user device may be a tablet-type user device.

Abstract: In one aspect, a method is provided for providing a flexible content selection capability for selecting a specific portion of content displayed on a touch-screen display of a user's computing device. In response to receiving user input including a plurality of touch points detected within a content display area of the touch-screen display, a relative location of each detected touch point is determined with respect to the content display area. Content displayed within a portion of the first content display area of the touch-screen display is automatically selected based on the determined relative locations of the plurality of detected touch points. A content selection region including the selected content is graphically presented within the content display area. A context menu including user options for invoking functions related to the selected content is then displayed in association with the content selection region via the touch-screen display.

Abstract: The sharing of content from one mobile station with a group of mobile stations using near-field communication (NFC) may be initiated, for example, by the one mobile station establishing a NFC link with another mobile station. The one mobile station verifies that the linked mobile station is part of the group, and transmits information regarding the content to be shared to the linked mobile station using NFC. The one mobile station uploads the content to a server using the mobile communication network, such that the content can be retrieved from the server via the mobile communication network by all other mobile stations in the group. The one mobile station or the server can send a notification to the other mobile stations in the group including information for retrieving the uploaded content.

When an application running on the mobile station requests access to the secure data, a secure domain controller processes the request and authenticates the application, for example based on an application authentication key. The secure domain controller further determines whether the application is associated with the same persona as the secure data identified in the request. If the application is authenticated, the secure domain controller then allows the application to access secure data associated with the same persona, but prevents the application from accessing secure data associated with other personas.
